PATS shouldn't cover this one they haven't been blowing teams out lately and JAX will be ready they wont win but should keep it close

I know I'm a huge Pats fan but I tell it how it is. Pats will cover. -13.5 isnt that much for an offensive powerhouse.  The D line are gonna eat up the run game. They are a very angry bunch and will show it tonight.  Jones-Drew may have a few good runs, Taylor will get nothing and it's going to force them to throw the ball.  Secondary will be ready.  Garrad will throw 2-3 picks and the Pats will cover this game. I'd take them to as much as -15.

Have a look at the playoff game these two were in, two years ago (7th January 2006). The Pats were -7.5 favourites, and won 28-3. The Jaguars were quite similar to what they are now, apart from a very untested David Gerrard. He eventually would replace an ineffective Leftwich that game. The Jags defense then was arguably quite better than what it is now. New England is a different animal - far more devastating.
Gerrard has somehow avoided making mistakes toward season's end. He is exposed for the mediocre signal caller he truly is today.
Reggie Williams is NOT Reggie Wayne. Jacksonville has absolute nothingness at WR. If New England comes ahead by a simple TD and FG, it'll be a heavy task for the Jaguars to play catch up.
Agreed, the New England defense is rather old (and I don't know how they'd done so well till the last four games), and that seasoned crew will cause for Gerrard to wish Gray were in there, in his place.
New England, easy and breezy-like:

Not even close to being with you on this one Hawkeye.  Like I said earlier in the week.  The Jags scoring in the Steelers game was skewed because of the 3 interceptions in the first half and the huge return by Jones-Drew.  Both of which are mistakes that the Patriots just do not make.  You take those away, and they scored 10 points in the 2nd half, and probably were lucky to get those last 3.  The Patriots defense is a lot better than the Steelers defense, especially in the secondary.  The Jaguars don't have a go-to-guy at receiver, and whoever their big guy is, Asante Samuel will shut him down.  The linebackers are also just as quick so that should help to limit the inside routes.  The troubling thing for the Jaguars is that I look at them as being in the same class as Tampa Bay.  Rely on the running game and the defense.  But if they get behind early, they may have to stray away from the running game, and Garrard will be forced to throw them back into it.  I'm adjusting my prediction from earlier in the week just a tad bit.

After reading the forum, my mind is changed, and I am going with Jax and the over. The movement of the line went down and not up, so that's an indication to take Jax. i just like the over. It's cashed more than not in Patriot games

I am not betting any play-off games so I don't have my money where my big mouth is BUT...
 
I just think all you guys taking Jacksonville are going to be saying to yourselves "What was I thinking?" after two quarters and four quarters of  football (sorry bigdaddy!)...
 
Jax just doesn't have the WR's or the DB's to keep up with these guys...it will get ugly early and often...this isn't the Pittsburgh Steelers they are playing...this is the 16-0 Patriots on their home field and they are a team on a mission...the Pats will shake, rattle and roll the Jags...

I wasn't planning to take any sides but the more I look into it, I am leaning to take my team on this one.  Jags pass defense really concerns me here, and as we all know Patriots are a throwing power house.

if the jags try to run it down the pats throats the will get BLOWN OUT!
they really need to pass early and often to set up the run in the second half. make those elder statesmen at linebacker chase the backs/receivers for the first half. defensively, if we/jags stay in our vanilla four man front, brady will slice our secondary to pieces. all that being said, i don't see both of these things happening. you know what they say about a leopard changing it's spots

LOL every 1 is picking the jags r u kidding me, 28-3 at foxboro 2005 last meeting just remember that, last games that pats didnt cover was set up just for vegas, look at it they threw 500 passes and probly 10 rushes messing wit the teams, its a hole that vegas has made for gamblers to pick jag, i know my patriots team, they will Blow out the jags
