I'm off this game too, unless more than 80% of the public is on LAL according to vegasinsider.com.
 
If thats the case then I am going to make a mid sized play on the spurs +7 hopefully 7.5 or 8 at gametime
 
if you want to go big throw it in on the DBACKS RL B Webb is 9-0 and the opposing pitcher has over 5 ERA

not to mention they lost last night... fat chance they lose again with Webb on the mound!

These teams have gone 9-0-1 in their last ten scoring under 50 pts in the first quarter.  Being game one and using the first period as a "get to know" twelve minutes, I'm loving the play.  Last nights game was a joy to watch if you went big on the 1Q under like I posted.  While these two teams will score more than 39 pts, I don't see it going over 50.  First quarter bets have been my best plays of the playoffs, winning at nearly 85% so far.  I just wish that everything I played had that winning percentage.

Another easy one today. I'm not going to post the same reasons as yesterday as to why Spurs will get a jump on LA. This game has one difference though the Lakers take over in the second. Spurs 1st quarter and under, Spurs half. Lakers game.

This will be a competative series I have no doubts about that but this game has double diget win written all over it for the Lakers.  Emotion will be large tonight in LA......Lakers jump out early and often IMO.

going to share something here that is almost too easy to spot on your own...

these are the regulation scores from 5 playoff games between the Spurs-Suns in the first round...

game 1: 93-93   (186)

game 2: 102-96 (198)

game 3: 115-99 (214)

game 4: 105-86 (193)

game 5: 92-87   (179)

 

only 1 of the 5 games topped 198, and the average total was 194... THAT happened in a series involving these same Spurs and a Suns team that plays NO defense at all...

hammer the under in this series...

    The Spurs plane was delayed more than eight hours last night and most of the players did not sleep. Look for the Spurs to hang in there for the first half then fade out during the second half. They just played a tough seven game series with N.O. You can't ignore the fatigue factor plus S.A. not a great road team.

Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

Spurs are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games.

Lakers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Take the Lakers minus the chalk and relax and watch the game!

The Lakers know what they're up against in the Spurs and will come out with real intensity.  They are respectfully afraid of the Spurs.  Fisher, Lamar - you could sense the resignation in their monday night post game interviews.  And Kobe feels the same way although he said exactly what he needed to.

The biggest difference between this team, and the Laker teams of the Shaq-Kobe era, is in it's personality: a lack of drama, and ball-sharing offensive philosophy.  No one dominated like Shaq, but that team was mostly one-two punch, was often disfunctional (Rick Fox, of all people, acted as the mediator and the glue for that team) and at times would melt down completely. 

This team seems to possess more emotional consistency and respect for it's competition.

This game is going to be competitive, despite the short layover for the Spurs.  More has been made of that than should've been, but it has to be considered a factor in light of the fact that they didn't get to practice yesterday and had to spend a night on an airplane.

If there's any game in this series in which the Lakers are most likely to cover -  it's this one.

The Spurs will be ready - for sure.  They know this team.  They don't need days to prepare.  And they'll ride the competitive momentum carryover from their big win the other night, so yes, they probably will be sharp.

But because the Lakers are considerably younger, obviously rested (and looked sharp in Game One v. Utah despite the week off), had the extra day to prepare, and the Spurs are 30-somethings coming off of a 7 game series, I'm takin' the Lakers and layin' the points.

The Spurs won't make mistakes, they'll play patient, play good D, and try to counter the LA offense by using the clock and keeping things methodical, but they have too many factors to overcome tonight.



Nice breakdowns by both Wang and Ridah btw.  Hanging out on this forum has been educational.

And props to those who took the Spurs in game 7 v. the Hornets.  They played like scared kids and you guys were right.

Most disappointing performance in the playoffs . . . ?

The New Orleans crowd.

What in the hell was that?!  You waited until 3 minutes of the final quarter to get into that game?!  A Game 7!  You'd think the ticket price alone would get somebody off of their feet and pissed of when their team is playing with total fear.

I guess the thought never crossed their minds beforehand that they could actually lose that game.

Zig same thing as last night Lakers off for awhile and Spurs comming in on a roll. I do see Lakers getting it together by half time because there bench is far superior. Spurs are going to have to sit there starters because of extended playing time recently. GL
