Now I am sure when I asked you for the names of actual candidates that exemplify that specific belief of not caring about social issues and focusing on economic ones, your failure to answer was just an oversight.

Certainly Bachmann, Rand Paul, and the others I named previously aren't real representatives of this mystical "tea party" so I await the names of those who are.

The problem was the same that Occupy wall street had.

Both had some great ideas, and had the spark of a real movement, but it was allowed to be defined from outside of the organization by people who hated it. 

MSNBC did a great job of defining the Tea Party, as religious zealots, who hate women, and minorities.

Just as FOX news did a great job of defining Occupy members as degenerate Marxist druggies, that rape and steal from each other.

At the end of the day the overall perspectives were formed through stereotypes and biases that were perceived from the beginning. 

Notice how both the right and left controlled media will scramble hard and fast to squash anything that challenges the overall prevailing paradigms? 

So this mystical tea party really wants what the poster said in post #26 and its MSNBC and the like that are distorting the positions of its candidates?

That's great news and gives me encouragement for finding a candidate to support.

Do you think you can help me out and give me some of the names of these candidates so I can start donating to their causes?

The point is that it does not exist.

The point is that any time a popular movement arises, it is coopted, ridiculed, and distorted. 

I remember when the Tea Party was a legit group of pretty intelligent individuals talking about the role of government ant taxation.  When campaign for liberty was having tea parties during the Bush administration, it was great. 

Then people like Palin came along, opportunists saw the popularity of the TP, and coopted it. 

Now it is about Abortion and happy marriage.

As I said yesterday, there are several Republicans who have espoused conservative financial philosophies and voted with their party on those issues, but have been ambivalent on social ones.

They are usually called RINOS.

No specific candidates are needed to prove the point.   Go do your own research and look at who was elected in the House and the Senate in 2010 mid-terms.  

In case you forgot , the Tea Party was a referendum to the mindless spending taking place in Washington beforehand.
