-you dont pay for tax cuts. its not the government's money. the answer is to always cut spending

-of course corporations are greedy. you want your stock to go up dont you? instead of punishing them for doing business in the US (tax hikes) offer incentives to keep jobs here. make it worth their while (cut corporate tax rates) it may not solve the problem but raising their rates will push them out even quicker

check how google plans to store their server farms in the future (on drudge). in barges in intl water to avoid paying property taxes on warehouses where the server farms are stored. the plan is genius

mccain and bush couldnt be further apart and be in the same party. dont give me the 90% crap either. obama's people count unanimous votes and voice votes in the senate with are 50-60% of the votes on the floor. conversely, your man votes with his party line 97% of the time

his 95% of americans get a tax cut is crap also b/c the bottom 40% pay nothing

-find me one piece of legislation obama spearheaded/sponsored (not co sponsored) in the senate
-find me a time when he bucked his own party's thinking and went out on his own on an issue
-find me a former classmate, colleague who has vouched for him personally

im sorry the dems couldnt find anyone better. only obama could be losing this election right now in this climate. on the other side, only mccain could be winning it for the GOP

fwiw - im not a GOP diehard. i almost switched to independent a few years ago. im a fiscal conservative and could really care less what people do in their lives as long as i and other taxpayers dont get stuck with the bill. not for fannie, lehman, merrill, foreclosures, pensions, government spending projects, natl healthcare, retirement, etc

the new deal was supposed to go away in 1933...but like most other far left big government schemes, it never does

Tax cuts work?  lmfaoooooooooooooooooooooooooo

This is by far the post of the year.  Have you been in a coma for the last 8 years?  Bush has had all kinds of tax cuts.  How have they done?  People are still losing their jobs, companies are still moving overseas, nobody has money.  So tell me how did those wonderful tax cuts bush gave to all the rich people help this economy?

Please dont use the line, well they need to cut spending, because thats a load of crap. For one politicians will never ever cut spending, none of them will do that, so the best place to have tax cuts then is with the middle and lower class people.

Secondly, what most of you guys who are always calling for cuts in spending fail to realize and this happens all the way down to your local govt is the fact that every year costs of everything go up, so unless you completely get rid of almost the entire workforces of all govts and stop all services, its almost impossible to cut spending.

 

Hers an example.  Lets take your local city and their budget.  lets say they have a 100 million dollar balanced budget last year to run the city.  Now this year the price of running that city is now up to 106 million due to the price of things just going up.  No added services and no added jobs created the increase, just your basic average cost of things going up.  How does the city pay the 106 million.  Raise taxes or layoff people and cut services.  Well people are more then likely be screaming, dont raise the taxes, lay the workers off.  Okay so now the city does lay the workers off and cut some services.  They are able to balance the 106 million dollar budget without any new taxes.  Now next year comes and the cost of running the city is now up to 112 million. Does the city just do the same thing again? You see the cycle is never going to end, so unless all govts want to go back to the stone ages where we have no services for anything in this country, raising taxes is always gonna have to happen.  Its a fact of life that you should just accept, that is unless you dont want police, fire, public workers, military etc etc etc and would rather just provide all these services yourself.  Its amazing how people want services but they never want to pay for them.

sizable majority in both houses until 2006 when the Dems
won back the house (not really the Senate with Joltin Joe in
there. The Dems have had control of the house for almost 20
months from late January of 07 to now.It is typical of the Neo-Cons in here to throw out unsubstantiated and untrue "fact" to
support there otherwise unsupportable position. For example,
tax cuts always work ,tax increases dont. Absolute jibberish.
Tax cuts for the wealthy and their handmaidens, deregulation
and increased deficits have led to every recession and/or de-
pression this nation has had over the last 100 years.What
did Hoover, Reagan and the 2 shrubs have in common besides
being conservatives; depressions,recessions waste, increased
spending and TAX CUTS for the wealthy. How did the nation
recover from those calamities: tax increases,decreased spending
regulation of banks, insurance companies and the market under
every other President since WW11 whether liberal Democrat
or moderate Republican.I and others have repeatedly posted
historical data in this forum evidencing that and no one has yet
to refute the accuracy of it, but instead just ignore it or blame
