Well since Pell Grants seem to be towards the top of list to cut in the budget, we can definitely stop that laughing.

First off am not defending Buffett because all these rich guys democrat or republican are skating the laws and getting away paying nothing, leaving all of us to pay for everything.

Their all dirtbags in my opinion. there isnt a rich guy out there who didnt basically cheat to create their fortunes.

Whats a fair share, i dont know thats why probably some form of flat tax would equalize it out for everybody.  This i dont know the answer to, but i do know when i see that 85 percent of the corproations in our country pay zero taxes, something is wrong. When i see exxon making 40 billion in profits and paying zero taxes, something is wrong.

Heres the thing, in the old days the people that owned the corporations were very happy making a profit and sharing the wealth of the company with its workers, but the people behind the corporations today dont want to share any of the wealth of the company with the workers, they truly want every penny for themselves because owning just 5 houses and 20 cars isnt good enough anymore, they want 20 houses and 100 cars, thus the reason for them going overseas for their labor and then they bring their products back here for all us suckers to buy with smiles on our faces.  Its a sad spiral events and i feel for the future generations of kids, because they will be slaves to big business and there wont be anything they can do about it.

Rick, do you even hear yourself?  Your sitting here defending the rich corporations who are making billions and billions and not paying their fair share in taxes like the rest of us are. Why are you defending these corporations?  Because you are afraid they will pack up and lave if they have to pay their fair share? Well heres a thought, let these fucking companies pack up and leave and then when they want to bring their product back here to sell, tax the crap out of them, watch how fast they bring their companies back and decide its better to pay our people and take a little less profit. On top of that let new companies be formed, that arent person and want it all for themselves.

I just dont understand some of you and never will. Nobody is asking for companies last 2 cents, just let thnem pay their fiar share like all of us do each day, thats all.

First off what tax exemptions, because i wanna get in line for that one?

The Obamacare Tax exemptions for a start, enjoy those.

Even if there were no unions, you still have to have public employees working these jobs and providing the services society needs. So why is it wrong for the workers to be united together? Is this because at your job, there is no union? Why not start one and get your employer to give you a bigger slice of the pie.  Why do you want to see workers make less.  I would bet that you get all of your tax money back or most of it every year, so what is it you are really complaining about, because i just dont get it.

I take pride in my work and have negotiated a fair wage with my employer (something I could not do in a union),  I do not want a bigger share of the pie, I want what I am owed and no more no less, I have left Very good jobs in the past because I was not happy with the leadership, or disagreed with policy I could never join a union because their leadership and policies are akin to corporate crime in my mind.

Busting unions isnt going to change things and put more money in your pocket, your still gonna have to pay for the salaries of these public workers and if you dont want to pay things like pensions, then your gonna have to pay higher wages. Believe me am not saying unions arent at fault for some things because they are, but they certainly arent the reason why states are broke. Like i have said a million times, stop the fucking pension padding and watch how much cash the states and cities save.  Thats the first thing that needs to be corrected and then start looking at if there are to many employees on the payroll to begin with, but dont start taking things away from people just trying to earn a buck.  These public employees certainly are living on easy street, thats for sure. And you make like all these workers arent paying anything, when they are paying their share in taxes which go towards their own salaries and benefits.

Unions add a layer of bureaucracy that make doing things like teaching children, or spending money to improve schools, or offering student lunches, or (in Wisconsin's case) having teachers that show up. In DC teachers that had sex with students, abused students and had long periods of unexplained absences were rehired due to union lawyers.In New York people died as a result of "trying to prove a point, that you can't lay off workers"  It is not all about the salaries.  I have a lot of buddies that are cops, and they deserve every penny if not more.  It is a matter of principle. These Unions enrich nobody but themselves. They work directly against the taxpayer, and directly against students. I have worked with labor unions, and while I have a lot of respect for about 25% of the workers a great majority of them would not know a full day of work if it bit them in the ass. 

These are my biases, and opinions. I do not see why you believe that everyone should love unions. Unions during my lifetime, have done nothing for me

Busting public unions will only lead to private sector unions getting busted, which in turn will lead to the private sector being able to walk all over the workers in this country and if you dont believe that will happen down the road, then am sorry but you must be living life with blinders on, because it will indeed happen. Like i have said before in the end the rich corporations will be the winners when the unions are all busted and gone, that you can take to the bank. So if you wanting to see the rich get richer, then stay on the union busting path, but you will see how it backfires at some point down the road. People like the koch brothers will be doing backflips if the day comes when they never have to deal with any type of union worker.

This is speculation, and nobody has to take a job they don't want, I am not a proponent of breaking unions. I am a proponent of stopping the out of control power that unions have against the taxpayer in these state situations. I do not give a flying fuck if corporations want to use unions. I do not know why they would, but I do not care. 

A side note, DO you still believe that private unions work for the worker? that is such a cute idea.  Unions try to Fuck the worker over more than the company in many jobs I have been at.

sorry KOAJ but theres certain things that just shouldnt be handled by the private sector, because even thou they might start out cheap, in the end when private companies takeover public jobs, it ends up costing alot more for the taxpayers and the only people who benefit from that crap, is the company owners themselves.

Sorry but these private companies usually lock in mega year contracts to provide the services that were once done by public employees and when that happens the tax payer is at the mercy of the company.  No fucking thank you. There is no savings.

My water bill is 3 times higher now that a private company has it and guess what were stuck with that shit for years to come. Its funny how the bill went up, yet the employees salaries went down with no savings to the taxpayers.I saw this happening a mile away before it happened because thats what private business does. They walk all over the consumer, worker and in my case the taxpayer. This just isnt right, people should be able to make a good wage and not be walked all over.

You need to get this thought out of your head that privatizing results in savings, because thats just not true.

What cities and states need to do, is start looking at the overall number of employees and seeing if there numbers need to be decreased. Tikcle the pension padding issue and watch the money flow in. Also cities might need to start combining resources together to have more buying power and greater overall savings. theres lots of things that can be done.

You also can't speak for every union, every state, etc......some unions bad, a lot good..........I know Hannity and Beck don't teach you this, but its true

CD has said many times (and I agree) that a lot of unions need to be curbed.....just one example, the unions (a lot in CA) that have contracts where they can up their pensions by working OT in the last few years of their active time....stuff like that has to go...thats common sense.......but common sense doesn't preside over this forum.....instead, its celebrated here to call firemen bums, and act like all union workers are thieves....I could go on and on
