Citing an alleged 'Emergency,'

[Der Führer of the MAGA Reich] Puts Washington, D.C. Police Under Federal Control, over the objections of local leaders, who say [the CONVICTED FELON] is exaggerating the city's crime problems.

"It's time for dramatic action," [Der Führer said]

Trump said he would not stop with the nation’s capital.
In addition to Washington, Trump also mentioned other
major cities where he wants to put police under *HIS* federal
control, including New York City, Baltimore, and Oakland. 

“They're so far gone," Trump said. “This [troops deployment]
will go further. We’re starting very strongly with D.C."

 On Monday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth
suggested "other" specialized units will be deployed
in Washington, D.C., at Trump's direction.

“You will see them flowing into the streets of
Washington in the coming week,” Hegseth said

Trump on Monday declared a “public safety emergency”
in D.C., even though violent crime in the city is at
a 30-year-low, and said that 800 National Guard
members will soon be stationed in the city.

On Aug. 11, 2025, [Der Führer of the MAGA Reich]
announced a "crime emergency" in Washington, D.C.,
and deployed the National Guard.

Calling the situation in the capital city [BLACK majority!]  one of
"complete and total lawlessness!"

 Crime in D.C. is down 7% so far in 2025 compared to the year before, and down significantly more from a recent peak in 2023, according to city police data.

Violent crime, in particular, is down by 26%, while property crime is down 4%.

In 2024 [under the Biden admin], crime in D.C. was down 15% compared to the year before.

which involves military rule over a civilian population in times of crisis or emergency.

Gregg Pemberton, the chairman of the D.C. Police Union, a branch of the Fraternal Order of Police, explained to WRC how the statistics are manipulated to make it appear that crime has declined. The union also warned about a larger trend of supervisors instructing employees to engage in such practices.

When our members respond to the scene of a felony offense where there is a victim reporting that a felony occurred, inevitably there will be a lieutenant or a captain that will show up on that scene and direct those members to take a report for a lesser offense," Pemberton said. "So instead of taking a report for a shooting or a stabbing or a carjacking, they will order that officer to take a report for a theft or an injured person to the hospital or a felony assault, which is not the same type of classification."

There is no emergency or data to justify deploying national guard and taking over police in Washington D.C. If Trump really cares about public safety, he should restore investment in community improvements. Instead taxpayers money is spent on political theatre that no one asked for and that won't improve safety. Throughout history, dictators use a false pretext to impose federal control over local law enforcement as a prelude to a national takeover.

In 2023, under Biden, DC saw 25 year high in homicides. Highest total since 1997. DC isn't as bad as it was in the 80s and 90s but let's not pretend DC doesn't have a high crime rate. Sure, it's not Memphis or St.Louis but it still has s significantly high homicide rate, even if it is trending downward.

You can't fudge homicide numbers. Multiple outlets in any given city track homicides. You can fudge everything else but the truth comes out with murder. And homicides are down. It doesn't change the fact that DC is still a high crime city. A dangerous city. It's not Memphis or St.Louis bad but it's not great.
