Paul has no shot in hell of being elected President and there is no way that he will win the GOP nomination either but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to that. Would be a lock for 4 years of a Democratic President. He has been elected to office once in a year that was the best in a long time for a Republican in a state that is FAR out of the mainstream of America. No way in hell he appeals to any swing voter. Considering that the GOP is not a majority party anymore and their electorate is shrinking they'd be smart to pass on this guy.

interesting that you rank paul #1... I personally think that he is unelectable... not because he wont appeal to independents... but that his own party wont side with him...
We saw it with his father... the GOP are not about the conservative values he represented... and would look to do the opposite of ayn rand... what we saw is that GOP is about supporting people like cain and trump who have no real experience in government or romney who is also a business first (perhaps personal interests) type of guy...
both rubio and christie have actual experience and success in government... I personally like christie as a person and his character... It was really hard for me to relate to and like romney...

DL - I believe that in order to be electable you have to be likeable and people have to believe in your message. Romney & McCain were neither hence both were blown out.
My order of the most electable Republicans in order that are realistic....
1. Rubio - he probably secures Florida's 29 electoral votes. He is lucky the Dems have controlled the Senate because wacko votes don't come up often.
2. Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin - helps in the Midwest and despite policies that he has implemented he is not an unlikeable guy even for me.
3. Governor Bob McDonnell of Virginia - somehow able to play a moderate image but Governor Ultrasound will have problems with women. He is still electable I believe.
4. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio - relative backbencher who comes from a critical state. Can raise a lot of money and could keep his mouth in check.
5. Indiana Governor Mike Pence - serving in the House he was nuts but has moderated his image as a Governor.
The following are not electable unless the Democrat implodes.

rubio might help with the hispanic vote that GOPs seem to take every possible opportunity to willing hand over the hispanic vote to the other side... and the racists that had to endure having a black president might be willing to side with rubio...

the nation looked to Massachusetts to see if based on romney's performance in executive office in their state if they thought he should be in executive office in DC... and their vote showed that they disapproved and america dodged a bullet in not voting him...

The Tea Party has already cost the GOP 5 Senate seats by nominating someone who was unelectable when it was clearly obvious that the Tea Party backed candidate had a small chance of winning. Utah is a state where Democrats don't even matter as an FYI. As a percentage of this country they are probably about 20% or so but of a GOP closed primary they are probably over 50% which is why GOP politicians can't ignore them.

I see Hannity an oreiley not as news but people paid to give a Spin and talking points to prescribe to their worship era to follow blindly.
Jon Stewart is a comedian as is Colbert or sketchs we see on SNL poking fun of Obama... They are not the left, they are TV shows that appeals to the non-fox"news" crowd.
I remember vets and military supporting Paul on his stance in not being so liberal with the blank check reckless and senseless spending that the GOP did with Iraq and the "war on terror" against the "axis of evil". Not only from a fiscal standpoint in the GOPs liberal spending on war but from the stand point of the liberal spending of resource and human lives.

You won't find it. Remember how Obama has been attacked for not being hard enough on Iran or less supportive of Israel. These attacks are not from the left.
The problem is certain people reach a tipping point where all of society's ills become the fault of one group or ideology.
