That's the huge part of the problem, the far left is killing this as much as the far right.  Both want an all or nothing approach and that's what going to happen.  For some reason they don't want to babystep this and that's the only way change is going to happen.

You are right about the polls.  That's the reason some of the Dems are blocking this from passing.  They see poll numbers and know they won't be re-elected if they vote for it. Why else would they be against it.

you sound exactly like the typical person who needs the govt to hold your hand for everything in life.  Maybe in canada your all a bunch of little babies that need the govt for everything in life, but here in our country it was founded so govt could provide every single thing in a persons life.

Maybe if you didnt have your blinders on all the time you could see that all govts are corrupt and thats why lots of people dont want to deal with them.  Only people that love the govt so much are the free loaders like you who need everything given to you.

tell us your healthcare solution then?

how much will it cost each individual , whether it be taxes or premiums? what about pre-existing conditions? how long will children be covered under their parents plan? how much of a saving will this be over the current plan? do you have subsidies and thresholds, and if so for who and how much? who regulates the plans? how tight will the regulations be?

I agree alot of these things need to be fixed, but you dont need the govt taking over the entire health system in order to fix it, especially when they have proved time and time again they cant run any type of business.  Really why is that so hard for some of you to understand?  Some of you think the govt will suddenly be able to run such a huge task, when truth is they will fail.

Its really sad to see so many of you wanting this thing to pass, just so you can get some free health care.  Did any of you actually try working to get your health insurance?

how much will it cost each individual , whether it be taxes or premiums? what about pre-existing conditions? how long will children be covered under their parents plan? how much of a saving will this be over the current plan? do you have subsidies and thresholds, and if so for who and how much? who regulates the plans? how tight will the regulations be?

I agree alot of these things need to be fixed, but you dont need the govt taking over the entire health system in order to fix it, especially when they have proved time and time again they cant run any type of business.  Really why is that so hard for some of you to understand?  Some of you think the govt will suddenly be able to run such a huge task, when truth is they will fail.

Its really sad to see so many of you wanting this thing to pass, just so you can get some free health care.  Did any of you actually try working to get your health insurance?

I want insurance companies running it, but i also want tougher rules that these companies will have to follow in order for them to stay in business selling insurance.  And please dont even tell me that the only way the system can be fixed is if the govt takes it over, because thats totally not true.  On top of that once the govt gets a hold of the system they will for sure break it and make things worse then they are now.  Please just tell me why you would think they could run the whole system, when they fail at everything they touch.

They couldnt even manage a simple cash for clunkers program without screwing it up.  Do you really want them in charge of your health care?  Sorry but i dont.

It's better it's based on the priciples of profit, not providing healthcare. I mean we can clearly see that the private sphere is concerned with said problems.

regulation has proven to be great in all sectors in the United States.

do you want rules like the finance sector, where they rape us and then we pay to bail them out? What is more important to you in regards to healthcare - the actual heathcare or the bottom line? What is the insurance companies interest? How can things can worse?

let me know, you like to go against the prevailing winds, so I want it noted what your opinion is this week.

I want the insurance company running the business not govt, thats my opinion.
Do you really believe that the govt wont try to turn running the health insurance business into a profit driven?  Do you really believe that the govt running it wont just create huge paying jobs for the politicians friends and families?  You will see the people in charge of it making huge amounts of cash, just like the ceo's are doing now.
But lastly the govt has yet to prove to me that they are capable of running such a massive operation.  As it is right now, i get everything i need form my insurance company without any problems ever.  Sorry but i dont want to have a problem getting the govt to give me the treatments i need and thats what am  100 percent sure will happen.

Heres a question for you, but i doubt you will answer and will jst dance around it.  Why are you so sure the govt could even remotely handle such a huge task?  What have they ever done to prove that they are capable of running a business?
They cant run medicare, which is dead broke, so lets now let them run the entire system  Please use your brain and just maybe you might actually see the outcome of them in charge.

Just letting people buy insurance accross state lines could make a big differnece in the current system.  Reducing lawsuits is another one that would make a difference, but the democrats will never pass that because they are bought and paid for by the lawyers.

Also if the govt plan is going to be so great, why did the democrat senators defeat an amendment making them have to take the govt plan for themselves?  Because the plan is going to suck and they dont want any part of it.  The day i see them taking it for themselves is the day i might have another opinion.

maybe we should take the armed forces and security out of the govts hands too, give it all to Blackwater and haliburton. They have proven they cannot handle anything of that size. Lets privitise the courts too, because the public sector can do a much better job. Private police forces too, and the fire brigades. Lets get the State Dept to the private sector, because I'm sure diplomacy is better served by those who care more about profit.

Do you want the Armed Forces moved away from the govt, because that is a large sector currently run by the govt and at the tax payers expense? Or are there other sectors the govt shouldn't be running too? or is just healthcare?

So you are happy with your current situation? what happens if your circumstances change? what happens when the insurance company denies a claim and you are out of pocket?

I suppose you are happy because nothing has happened yet

so you want the army to be privitised too? too big a task for the govt to run?

how much money will tort reform bring? how much of a saving will buying across state lines make? how will that help when your claim is denied?

and your question was answered by providing examples of govt run agencies.

no i dont want the military run by private outfits, even thou the military does waste lots of money.

Our country was founded to have a  military protecting its people.  It was never founded with the intent of govt running healthcare system.  There just is certain things the govt has no business running and the health insurance is for sure one of them.

Why stop at health insurance, lets have the govt take over the car insurance business also, since the rates for that insurance is also very high.  In fact lets just let govt take over every type of private business.  More and bigger govt is not the answer to problems.  The only people who want more govt is the leeches who are loking for handouts.

health insurance and car insurance are like apples and polar bears.  Nice try though, comparing the health and lives of people to a car. Do you pray to god each night to keep your family healthy and your car on 4 wheels?

I pity those leeches who get cancer and can't afford treatment because the health company denies their claim. Or those just starting out in this world who are on minimum wage, and get hit by your precious car, and can't afford post emergancy treatment?

fuck 'em, let them die. They are only poor anyway. Pity the poor insurance company who may have to pay a claim to a sick person, instead of adding fractions of a cent to the dividend

    poor sods

All the govt has to do is pass laws saying insurance companies can no longer deny or drop people from coverage, so quit making it sound like the only way to fix that part of the problem is by having the govt take over the whole system

They will have no choice if they want to remain in business.

But since you answered the question the way you did, i now got to ask you why will that be an okay business model for the govt to do?  This means the govt will lose money running this type of business model, which will mean people will have to pay more money. So you see the govt is going to have the same problems then.

I have never claimed to have read the entire bill, so i dont know where your getting that crap from.  But i do know one thing am sure you didnt read the bill either.

I have read quite a few pages where people have posted certain pages of the bill to read and on every one of those page i read, things werent very promising.

Lastly if you think our govt is going to find 500 billion in waste and fraud to fund the bill, then you must be smoking some really good shit. If they could find that kind of money why havent they already done it?  BECAUSE THEY ARE BLOWING SMOKE UP PEOPLES ASS AND GUYS LIKE YOU FALL FOR THAT KIND OF CRAP HOOK LINE AND SINKER.
