If law abidding citizens were killing each other with guns, then i would be first in line to say we have a problem and weapons should be gone. But that isnt whats happening, people with mental health problems are the ones who are doing all the killing. So why should the good law abidding people have to give up their rights of owning weapons outside of a single shot shotgun or musket.

It's obious that the scope of the Second Amendment is not settled and the courts will respond to public pressure and have to settle the law.
But I agree with you several questions still remain unanswered about the 2nd Amendment... since it didn't say children should be prohibited from keeping and bearing arms either..
But, what we as Americans should be far more concerned about is the government and its propensity for using drone attacks against people here and in foreign countries,, not legally armed Americans.

Listen i dont know how our govt could enslave millions of people, but there sure is lots of countries around the world who have done it easily when its citizens have no way to push back. Whats funny is you act like theres 100 percent chance that our politicians couldnt turn our country into a china type country. Please enlighten all of us, how without any weapons to fight back that couldnt happen.
Now heres the difference bewteen you and me, i never said that am 100 percent sure it would happen, just that i didnt want to risk taking the chance of it happening, thus why i want to see law abidding citizens keep their weapons, so in case that day ever did happen, we could have a fighting chance, where as you sit back and just keep saying no way that could happen.

Maybe the govt should actually do a better job of enforcing all of the gun laws that already exist in the country before creating new laws that only hurt law abidding citizens who were never the problem to begin with. Its alaso funny how you dont see what hypocrites the politicians are when they are wanting to ban weapons, all while they are making sure they send their kids to schools where armed guards can watch over them all day. There is truly no way to answer this question, because for one i dont know what is going thru the minds of these power obsessed politicians minds. Also by me not being able to give you the answer, doesnt mean that it cant actually happen. See thats the difference bewteen us, i never said it would happen with 100 percent certainy but you say it cant happen with 100 percent certainty. Sorry but neither one of us knows who will be right. My point is, why let the govt take peoples weapons away and then something like our country becoming a dictator type country happens. All of us will have no recourse to take the country back from crazed power obsessed politicians. Why would you want to take that risk for you and your family? Only people this ban on weapons is going to hurt is the good law abidding ones, who arent the problem. The bad guys and criminal organizations are still gonna get access to guns from all over the world and will bring them here, same way they bring drugs here. Also another thing in your liberal thinking that you are failing to think about is, the fact this ban will create more dangerous drug organizations with dangerous weapons deciding to setup shop in our country, especially since they know they will be able to terrorize more people, knowing that they no longer have weapons to defend themselves anymore, except for that slingshot they are allowed to keep.

A lot of my family is in various forms of law enforcement and not one of them want to see guns banned from law abidding citizens. Gee i wonder how has a better handle on this? People in law or the underground movement who gave us Obamacare and now no weapons

99 percent of the time am against the corporations, because i feel they have destroyed our very country. But having gun makers is the 1 percent of the time, am glad they are around, because they truly are the only ones keeping politicians in check right now.

Second Amendment said people can bear arms. If in 1776 arms was muskets, then thats what people would own. If in 2013 arms was assault weapons, then thats what people would own. It doesnt say that people 200 years later could only own arms that was used in 1776. Do you really think that the founding fathers didnt klnow that their was going to be advances in everything, including weapons?
You need to bear the same type of arms that the govt bears for the time period in order to make the Second Amendment mean anything otherwise its useless.

Back in 1776 muskets were the assault weapons of the time. They assaulted the British troops all the way back to England. Back then it was muskets, today its semi automatic weapons. The weapons may be modern but the principles remain the same.
