i'm not optimistic.  i remember looking at that table for the republican debate.  most of them were circus freaks and the only two normal people were paul and huntsman and they were the only two that never got their foot in the door.  it's crazy.  it's like being deranged is a prerequisite for real consideration for the republican nomination.  no one else need apply. 

same thing was said in 2004 and what do they do- cain, perry, romney, santorum and bachmannia.  as tilt said, they doubled down on crazy.  who's running this operation.
