firstly, The United States does not have the best standard of living on the planet. Find me a report that says otherwise to prove me wrong. "The Economst" has its own report you can quote, so does the UN human Development Fund,
secondly, capitalism does not like regulation. In a developed society with a large population base and workforce regulation is a neccesity.
