* Z had no official capacity as a watchman at all - was self-appointed. What's a guy with 2 prior violence related arrests even doing with a gun?

* Whether he said "fkn person" or not, made disparaging comments & obviously felt Martin was up to know good with already a bias. Was agitated enough to call 911 & then follow him despite being told "we don't need you to do that".

* The only suspicious behaviour Z gave was that he was walking slowly & looking up at houses. What a joke & he was on a cell call..

* Z is armed with a gun & more than just suspicion & following Martin a car, then gets out to confront & question him.

* Noone other than Z knows what was said or saw what happened just before the fight so why would anyone automatically believe the shooter's account? That's crazy... and now the lead investigator says he was unconvinced & wanted him arrested.

Sad stuff but think he'll be charged & arrested soon. The "stand your ground" laws are bs anyway & redundant at best. We already have justifiable self-defense & they've become a license to kill... shoot first, ask questions later...& encourages the worst kind of vigilantyism. Further, there were 13 police incidents in the community (eight burglaries, two bike thefts and three simple assaults) in the first two months of 2012. Maybe that's why Zimmerman called 9-11?

Well, all that says is they got into a fight & he had his nose broken. Not how the fight started or whether Z had actually turned around & was going back to his car or not. And even if he did & Martin hit him, is that grounds for Z to shoot & kill him? Hell, if I antagonized someone in a bar & he followed me out & punched me in the parking lot, could I just shoot & kill him under the Fla laws, then say I feared for my life & not be arrested or charged?

Punching alone would probably not be enough. Punching combined with pounding your head into the pavement. YES.

Furthermore, witnesses report one of the two of them screaming bloody murder before the shot took place.

I think alot of people rushed to judgement in favor of Martin because of all the initial teddy bear photos and the obvious weight disadvantage. Last I heard, T is 6'3" and most likely had a reach advantage.

From witness statements, One of them was getting pummelled, if Z was pummelling T it wouldn't seem reasonable that he would need to pull the gun out and fire.

Witnesses also stated that Z was on his back and T had strattled him.

That evidence doesn't seem to point to T needing the stand your ground at all does it?

To me, that corroborates Z's story to the police as far as I can tell.

Well, I guess that kinda underscores my thoughts & feelings about these "stand your ground" laws. Who doesn't hit someone without the intention of doing bodily harm? And who/what determines whether it's "serious" or not? A broken nose...that's laughable. So how many times does 1 have to pound a head into the pavement...once, 3 times, etc? Does there need to be a certain amount of blood...?

Of course I have, but by that logic one could push someone down or off a bike causing them to hit their head hard on the pavement & then that person get up & shoot 'em. Would that be legal as well?

You really should stick to the evidence presented in the case so far and quit injecting different bs scenarios.

If I fell and cracked my skull open I would think it would take even less to convince a jury that I was defending my soft spot from a blow that would not otherwise cause me serious harm.

I'm just injecting plausibility & logic into what you've said. As far as the evidence, the lead detective didn't believe Z's account & says he believed that he should have been arrested & charged with manslaughter. But he was overruled by a state atty because he didn't think there was enough evidence at the time to get a conviction.

What I find interesting though, is why almost all of the righties here seemed to immediately side with Z & even his account of what happened. Why would that be when he was the 1 armed, stalking & persuing and then he did the killing? And his version should be taken as credible - why? And had it been a black guy that shot a white 1 under the same circumstances, I'd feel exactly the same way.
