Great thinking..exactly what they want you to do.
So since it is just good ole McDonalds, who cares? The employer really does not mean much, it is the principal and the larger picture of what they are doing and the harm they cause.
So if we keep looking the other way and ignore the issue then it wont exist?

I've never been a "look the other way" at things I think are unacceptable and this fits that descript.
I try to do all I can to stand up for positions I feel are important and in this case I do not patronage that place..I didnt before this but it solidifies my position more I guess.
I think that every job matters, Goldman or McDonalds or Home Depot or anything..in fact the comparison made above is embarrassing to be honest..it to me cheapens what those people do and the hard work they do for poor wages. I had a past long ago in this industry..long ago and the work is tough, thankless and underpaid.
I have no pity for McDonalds and their billions in cash, millions in profits and bonuses for execs..I think it is near criminal how they position their product at the lowest income group, they sell food that makes you sick and lessens your ability to think and move forward..its fattening, caloric food. They try to lure kids and their parents in with clever cute marketing to sell them their nutrition poor, fattening food..

This is the equivalent of gangster extortion against the taxpaying citizens. Why should these Corporate Fukks and their shareholders be laughing all the way to the bank? And don't give me the lame argument that raising the minimum wage would hurt small businessmen. That's BS. The major corporations employ 2/3 of the minimum wage force in this country.

I do not patronize McDonalds or any other major corporation.
Always try to steer my dollars towards local businesses.
One of my worst faults is over tipping. Wifey gives me shiit about that constantly. "Why you tipping so much? Give that extra $5 to me"

Im a minimum 25% guy
Usually higher
PRE TAX
On a few occasions Ive been at a large party...10+ of us...multiple checks
I ask the server to take off the 18% they usually put on the check because it is a large party and tell them they would do better leaving me to my own devices.
Many times they say they cant and we figure betwwen all of us the server cost themselves over $100 bucks
( last time we were 10 of us.....check a little more than $700....
18% instead of 30%....server lost close to $100 bucks )

Another time we were in one of those 18% situations and the server hit us with 18% AFTER figuring the tax in.
We asked to see the manager...and the manager insisted that was the right way to go
In other words....
We were asked to tip Uncle Sam
We refused
Left the proper amount of check + 18% + tax pre tip...whick came up short of the total bill....
The manager threatened to call the cops.
Thankfully in our group was 1 cop and 3 lawyers
The manager backed down

McDonalds and the like is set up on a certain business model. That business model involves paying lower skilled workers to do mostly jobs that require lower skilled workers. The workers and the management SHOULD understand this rather well.
People that need to support a family of 2+ people should not set their sites on long term service at one of these outfits like McDonalds or the like unless they get into management.
Just because the economy has turned on it's ear and the proper high paying jobs have been scared overseas that doesn't mean that McDonalds and Walmart should change their entire business model.
Anytime you artificially set wages at certain rate per hour you run the risk of businesses paying for services or time that add no value to the business itself.
Where else in the business structure is money going out for zero value?
Is that concept so complex?

GG. Yes I do insurance. Not health. Home and auto and commercial. I wish I got 25%. More like 7% is my share. And if my boss put a limit on salary then he'd be putting a cap on production and I don't think he's quite willing to do that.

In my younger days, I was a Nationwide Insurance Agent. We were required to take that test. I studied my azz off and still only scored a passing grade of 72% (70% was passing).
You should be making a lot more than 7%.

There are premium places which compete now..places like 5 Guys, Chipotle, Chick Fil A etc..
I also dont think people are as sensitive to the needs of others to think outside their own pocket. I dont necessarily blame them, I am cautious with what I spend..
For me I dont really dine out like that irregardless of the establishment, so my way of commenting is by not frequenting them and also giving my input when the opportunity arises.
