McDonalds wants to give it's employees a raise... with TAXPAYER money

The McDonalds Corporation wants their employees to put more food on their tables and receive decent Health Care.  No, they really do.  It's just that they think the Federal Government should pay for it all.

And they've even set up a McDonalds HOTLINE for employees to grab all the free Government stuff they can find.

What would a good wage for a burger flipper be?

anyone else notice that the workforce of fast food resturants is aging ridiculously.

I remember when I would go to a restaurant and the average age of an employee would be 20ish?

Now it is probably 50? 

McDonalds should just employ high school part time students and stop dealing with the hassles of employing lifetime employees. 

Just keep One manager on for 52K a year, and have him or her teach the teenagers how to cook French fries for minimum wage for 20 hrs a week.

How is that difficult?

The Obama administration is doing the same thing.......

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has been running radio ads encouraging those eligible to enroll for Food Stamps ..The department is spending between $2.5 million and $3 million on paid spots, and free public service announcements .

..and the USDA is pushing to get children onto government assistance.

“As part of its ongoing commitment to improving access to healthy food for low income children, USDA has set a goal of serving 5 million more meals to eligible children this summer.  Following a directive from Congress, USDA has also conducted a series of projects examining methods to better serve low income children, particularly those living in remote areas or areas otherwise underserved by USDA’s summer meals programs.”

This is one of those topics where it shouldn't matter, Republican or Democrat, because both sides should be irate. 

Corporate fukks sloughing off their employer responsibilities onto the taxpayers.

DL. I was a busboy at a steakhouse when I was 15 worked my way up fry-cook, grill, then full-cook late shift.
Not McDonald's, but it probably wasn't much different.

What exactly are they violating?
New healthcare mandate? Nope
Minimum wage? Nope
Child labor laws? Nope
Full time hours have been lowered by Obama.

Healthcare is essentially being de-leveraged from corporate responsibility and added to the personal liabilities (by mandate).

You really can't be all that mad at the corp for playing the governments game.

Not to string post, but the government has been wanting these people on the dole for a long time and corporations are all too happy to guide them to the government teet. It is like a symbiotic parasitic relationship.

I guess that is just parasitic.

You wave the flag and then do everything you can to undermine the very country you claim to think is the greatest nation on earth.

Our gutless government leaders need to grow spines and put these corporate fukks back in their place.  Corporations should not be more powerful than the government, period.  And they certainly shouldn't be creating a slave class of workers in this country at the expense of the taxpaying citizens.

How am I a hypocrite.

I am telling you that it is a mutual relationship against the American people between Corporations and Government to make them both low wage workers, and dependent on government.

They set a minimum wage (which depresses wages) at an unlivable level. Then take the responsibility away from the employer for health care, and coerce the individual to pay for health care by penalty of law. 

Then to add insult to injury, they lower the minimum wage to 30 hrs a week.  You have to ask yourself who benefits by that move?  The government intervention has created this atmosphere.  The people that have rigged the game against the American people have made up the rules.  McDonalds is just playing by the rules.  Of course they have a hand in lobbying etc,  but ultimately every gripe that has been levied against corporations can be deflected onto the Federal Government.

CNN) - After four decades of serving its ketchup, McDonald's is cutting ties with Heinz.

The fast food giant cites "recent management changes" as the reason for the switch.

Heinz recently hired the former CEO of rival Burger King.

In a statement, McDonald's Global Media Relations Director says Heinz represents only "a small percentage" of the company's condiment and sauce business.

McDonald's says it will transition to other suppliers.

The company suggests customers won't notice the change.

Who is it besides management who is satisfied with MickeyD's as a career?

Why would anybody in their right mind want to relax when they get hired on at McDonald's if they did set their career sites there?

Why are you suggesting that people should aspire to be a burgar flipper or fry cook?

bowslit...  You are an insurance agent, are you not?  Your commission is based on a percentage of the policy premium, is it not?  Insurance premiums rising 50% or 100% a year makes a nice little score for you, doesn't it brother?  What if your bosses put a cap on your salary like some McDonalds people are told they can only work 30 hours a week?  That OK with you?  Let's say, you get 25% commission on a Homeowners Policy, but it's capped at a $500K dwelling limit.  Sorry, if you wrote a $1.5 million dollar dwelling,  Your salary is capped at the $500K limit.  That be OK with you ???

Of course my view is as always...

I understand and get the animosity for the corporations. Why no animosity for the Government that facilitates the exploitation?
