    @BigGame90

     They are in a terrible spot as you know...their rates have been artificially squashed for so long that even the smallest of bump causes serious damage. The Yen is teetering so they cannot really move the inflation needle as they want and also prop the Yen and stop capital outflow AND stimulate demand.

    Their population is aging so consumption based inflation is not something the BOJ can push by massaging interest rates like the FED tries to do here which is why their inflation battle even with higher energy costs is not working. They have intervened twice this year but after an initial small bump the selling of the YEN continues.

    If they were to bump rates up to say even the level of the Euro average bond that would ramp borrow costs but it would create Yen support and still do nothing for inflation, it would probably push inflation lower even more.

    They are quick sanding down into a bad spot with no real solid solutions or good outcomes in any direction.

    You can’t fight drugs by going after or punishing the provider - you need to “remove” the buyer or the incentive to buy otherwise the problem will never disappear - as long as there is money to earn (esp with the margins that drugs provide - there will be a supplier) - and that would be true even if you killed their top guy every single time

    Don't mention the frogs - we don't want to scare the toddler - we want him to sleep

    Is it selling of the yen, or shorting of the yen? If it's massive shorting, what happens when the BOJ raises rates and capital flows back to Japan?

    I believe Japan's inflation is below 2% which has always been the US target rate and has been there for quite awhile. Japan has also increased wage growth pretty drastically. It's the weak YEN that is hurting their cost of living, not inflation like here in the US.  It just seems the US isn't trying to hit that target of 2% like the FED has been preaching for a handful of  years. Raising rates hurts banks, bond holders, institutions etc, lowering rates hurts inflation... rock and a hard place, right? What happens to US and world markets if BOJ raises rates, say .50 or more?

    Howard Nutlick: " You're gonna see 6% GDP growth under this president." 11/20/2025

    Nutlick "Look for the 2nd quarter to be amazing!" December 18th 2025

    The U.S. economy grew at a disappointing 1.5% in the 2nd quarter of 2026.

    It's truly AMAZING how clueless & full of shit these fucktards are.

    Nutlick "Look for the 2nd quarter to be amazing!" December 18th 2025

    The U.S. economy grew at a disappointing 1.5% in the 2nd quarter of 2026.

    It's truly AMAZING how clueless & full of shit these fucktards are.

    Well their CB has similar mandates that the FED has which is to keep inflation in a box and to try and normalize the currency relative to other currencies. So one mandate is for them to RAISE inflation like the FED stupidly tried to do in our past that fails because of mainly the discussion I/we had in the past which is the money multiplier is dead and that means the FED and BOJ and any CB tools are blunt and useless. The BOJ has tried to juice inflation which they think will spur GDP and growth with their few available tools and it didnt work and it does not work. You cannot force demand based inflation with a dead money multiplier because if the CB loosens rates then old theory is that banks will try and lend or invest with those lower rate funds and that leads to capital spend, jobs etc, that is OLD theory and it is no longer the case. So what tools do a CB have outside of bazooka out of control policy?

    The BOJ to support the YEN has to BUY the Yen or sell other currencies to support the Yen, that goes counter to the encourage inflation to a mandate by expanding and loosening liquidity so to me they have no option available, they have to pick which fire they want to put out and in the process neither makes progress.

    I read that they were supporting the Yen yesterday and that is why the drop vs the USD but all times past this year it has not lasted and I would expect the same result now.

    One more thing the stock market is pretty hot right now for the Nikkei is up 50% over the last 12 months thanks to semi/chip stocks so what happens for their economy if this reverses? If the market goes down which it SHOULD that would dampen risk and reduce spending on the margin which makes things even more difficult for the BOJ.

    I am not sure there is an outcome that works how the BOJ wants without a change in the population spending habits and a way to increase GDP without schemes so I would expect Japan to continue in this multi decade mess and the only way the Yen will improve to a large extent is due to a decline in a COUNTER currency, so the USD would need to decline hard via lower interest rates...that would inflate the Yen and pretty much only that would IMO.

    @Midnight1

     Trump is a seller/spinner of a story to gain an advantage and to WIN, he has no interest or means to actually see the endless promises and lies actually materialize. If he was interested in a GDP ramp would he start a useless war AND make illegal tariffs which reduce GDP and increase inflation?

    He could care less the impacts of his reckless fascist attack on the country, his objective is to inflict the most damage and increase his family net worth until his term is finished.

    The fact that Blanche refused to terminate the slush fund in writing for Fatboy's  criminal cronies as well as his IRS immunity deal proves that his testimony at his confirmation hearing that these things were “dead” was always a lie.

    They were dead only until he got confirmed & that's just fine for those cowardly gutless GOP scumbags.

    Don't be surprised if outgoing Senators Tillis & Cornyn fold.

    The fact a toxic clown would even be considered for ANY post let alone pretty much every single post since Trump took over signals the objective and purpose Trump has for his second visit as leader.

    I can understand an oddball outlier who might be some gift position but every single person Trump has forwarded has NO reason to be in the role, not a single one. This Blanche dude should be disbarred and buried but here he is  just like all the awful crew associated with this administration.

    What an embarrassment this is for our country we are held hostage by Trump and project 2025 borg agents with no way to remove this toxic cancer for another two years.

    @BigGame90

     Looks like the plan has been hatched that the FED is sticking their butt into the situation and as I mentioned above its done by either buying Yen or selling USD to balance the scales and prop the Yen and in this case most all currencies. I am not sure a wishy washy approach will work and it could implode the situation as the market smells fear it could get worse before it gets better.

    The BOJ does not have the capacity to move the needle and the FED here does not want to act recklessly because it could smack our debt markets as you see today.

    Not a great mixture of issues and not a ton of great options out there....the real needle mover would be if Kevvie were to throw the lumber down with a rate cut or some other measures and given the Trump inflation issue that would be against their directives.

    I am wasting my words here because most members here are fixated on finding fault and what is wrong as a means to tear someone down as an attempt to elevate their political position rather than have good discussion and find ways to learn and exchange ideas. You are right though with most all you said there that Christians on the GOP side are those that Christ rebuked and challenged to make the better choice for the benefit of EVERYONE, the camel through the needle is a great example of that. Christ said the old law is dead yet that is the law most Christians cling to as it divides and minimizes others so they seek to do that themselves.

    Christ was a socialist and a liberal, accepting to all the sinner and saint the scholars and the most simple, the poor and the wealthy to all and any who would listen and give up their lives to serve others. I get sick watching this political crap framed as Christianity because there is none to be seen. True Christians keep their faith in their homes and lead through service and works and accept everyone, serve everyone and forget about themselves.

    The trash going on now is an end of times sign stuff like the Medicare D removal is just another smack to the head of those who need help the most and is for sure not a Christian act at all.

    Good job in bases this year you are consistent and always full of good insight and I appreciate you not retaliating and fighting with others here who seek to drag you into the insults and dregs we see too often here and in the general forums.

    I don’t know if I believe Trump when he says he had nothing to do with FIFA's suggestion to let private investors invest in it. It seems odd to me - it should just be a coincidence that it happened weeks after you hosted the World Cup, and his son-in-law is one of the biggest investors.
    That man can’t accept a defeat an_roll_laugh - come on guys not being able to admit that Europe is the only determining factor in regards to what happens to soccer is laughable - no matter how much of your money that corrupt fuck has spent on it - knowing the going rates for FIFA corruption this hasn’t been cheap for you guys an_burn_money

    Don't mention the frogs - we don't want to scare the toddler - we want him to sleep

    The bullshit the DOJ put the former Olympian through over the reflecting pool is an absolute disgrace & then they have the balls to blame the Interior Dept. (who agreed with BLOTUS that it was vandalism) because they didn't share information. So there were no witnesses. There were no videos of David Hearns ripping/tearing any part of the pool. Her felony indictment was absurd & almost as bad as the Subway sandwich throwing dude indictment. She called for a time of accountability & doesn't realize that's coming in November. This all took place in a month.

    Juicebox was going to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" of his criminality but this clown indicted Hearns before they had any proof of his guilt. And there was none because this shit was all made up! The DOJ dismissed the case without prejudice which means they can retry the case if conditions change. Are they talking about alternative facts again?

    Sadly there is about 30% of the country who believe President Poison & nothing is going to change that.

    THEY HAD NOTHING TO LOSE BUT

    They folded like cheap beach chairs purchased @ K-Mart. Tillis & Cornyn are nothing but poltroons & scared old men.

    Everyone knew they would cave. It's no surprise. Why jeopardize the potential lobbying gigs & easy money down the road? They would have been ostracized at their respective country clubs. There was never a chance they would vote NO on Blanche.

    They don't have the souls or consciences to give our country another thumbs down John McCain moment of courage.

    Shameful!

    LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT!

    Spinless Senator Cassidy voted for Blanche saying "Blanche is not perfect, and he will tell you this. But the choice is not between perfection and Blanche. It is between Blanche and another acting attorney general who may not run the department effectively under Trump, and who indeed may not be as good as Blanche."

    So he’s voting to confirm Blanche because he thinks Trump might pick someone who sucks even more than Blanche if he doesn’t???

    This is the state of our country.

    EVERY DAY CORRUPTION

    Whiskey Pete Hegseth cancelled the $400,000 contract for making uniforms for the Blue Angels on the grounds that the contract with "The Sewing Box" was DEI since the firm is black owned. This small company has been making these uniforms for decades.

    Instead, he awarded it to a Trump donor for $1,690,000, a 325% price increase!

    The whole administration is out of control.

    ...therefore it's all the fault of the Democrats.

    Of course, and any time you point out this obviously gross expense .... The immediate deflection is somehow Biden or Obama or Hillary was way worse....

    Chin up. Those gavels ( speaker of house and Senate majority leader)  are within reach...

    @Midnight1

     Trump was suppose to fire Hegseth this year & I would’ve won my bet. Today they’re not getting along, if Trump doesn’t fire Hegseth next 4 months, I lose my bet.

     I agree with your views on Christianity! But History shows us the root of the problem with Modern Evangelical Christianity which centers around Dispensation Theology which was indoctrinated into the USA by John Nelson Darby who was a British Agent & Satanist. Going back Further the Pilgrims were the Worst of the Worst of Evil Christian Cults, they were so vile & disgusting the sailors transporting them here dumped them on Plymouth Rock instead of their destination VA where they intended to Genocide Indians & grow tobacco.

    Going back further we see Christian Theologian Isaac Newton was really a closet Satanist who spent his entire life seeking the Philosopher’s stone = contradiction to Christ’s Spiritual essence & teachings.

    Christian Satanist like Newton believed they could “create history” by controlling events to cause the End Times to bring the Anti Christ on the World Stage! = Christian Zionism. Christian Zionism causes them to visit the Holy Land to scheme a plan to bring folks back to Holy Land so they create Jewish Zionism. The Wolves in Sheep clothing believe God is the Bad Guy & Lucifer is the Good Guy!

    Furthermore it certainly looks like Mormonism was created by the Brits perhaps that’s why the Mormons moved their HQ to the Vatican & why so many CIA Spies are Mormons.
