Republican Bramnick warns that Putin's mission to restore Russia to a global super power, killing of political enemies, supporting of dictatorships worldwide and wars against other countries are clear evidences of Putin threat to democracy.

SO DO YOU LIKE STRAWBERRIES???

The boss & I are going to the Plant City Strawberry Festival next week to see Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's an annual festival in a city known for their strawberries. I'm sure kc has made a visit or two to this shindig.

You've probably eaten their strawberries & not even know it. But there's concern in this small city because they use plenty of migrants with H-2A temporary visas because Americans are too fucking lazy to do this backbreaking work when they can suck off the government tete. Many are leaving in fear of being wrongly deported & are afraid to come to work in the morning. Farmers are worried.

One farmer was telling the Tampa Tribune that his manpower total cost was $16 per hour last year but now subcontractors that provide the workforce & the visas are charging him $23 per hour for the same workforce as last year. I'm pretty sure this isn't a isolated situation & farmers across the country are or will feel the kick in the balls as well.

We got a BOGO this morning which was 2 pints of strawberries for $4.99 which is pretty cheap. By the end of next month, they could be very well 2 for $6. 

Farmers will be sharing their pain with consumers. 

I'M ALL FOR ELIMINATING WASTE AND PROSECUTING FRAUD BUT...

Unless you own the company, all of us have received performance reviews from our immediate supervisor. Logically they should be the best person to evaluate talent, experience etc. In the corporate world I had 4 managers & 72 employees across the country. Their input was essential when considering increases, promotions & terminations. Otherwise you end up with the mess being experienced in every governmental department.

I learned in life a long time ago that courage is contagious. We need the contagion of courage to spread like a wildfire.

 I'm not super into strawberries but my wife loves them. And as i've made clear, i'm not super into illegals either, regardless of what societal niche they fill. Driscoll controls the berry market out here, and in a lot of the country. Sure, there are mom and pop berry farmers. Their are a couple independent strawberry growers near me. They pretty much all sell to Driscoll though. Driscoll isn't hurting for money. They can afford to pay an American, or just someone with a proper visa, a decent wage. I don't accept the, "We need illegals or X would be unaffordable" narrative. Personally, I can do without strawberries. And I can afford to give them to my baby at any cost. It is what it is.

I do love a festival though. Once on a trip to Seattle, last day in town and we had no plans. So decide to just take the ferry somewhere. We're like, "We'll check out this town, Bremerton. See what it's all about." There's not a whole lot to the place. It's actually pretty big. More of a small city than a town. It's claim to fame was apparently being the home to a Naval shipyard. It would've been pretty dull except for the fact that when we got off the ferry, we walked right into the Bremerton Blackberry Festival. It turned into a magical day. Nobody as big as Skynard played though.
