WASHINGTON, Feb 2 (Reuters) - U.S. job growth accelerated in January and wages increased by the most in nearly two years, signs of persistent strength in the labor market!    The closely watched employment report from the Labor Department on Friday also showed the unemployment rate at 3.7% last month, remaining below 4% for two consecutive years, the longest such stretch in more than 50 years. More jobs were created in 2023 than previously estimated.  @fubah2   i dont see the stats on the wage gains     but good news anyway ! @KellyM_1964  I'll see if I can find those. Wage gains surged 0.6% for the month and 4.5% year-over-year.

    @fubah2

Small wage gains but I like the trend for the economy.

This is about America, not about giving Biden talking points. peace_5

We've suffered enough since Trump let down the entire country almost 4 years ago and it has been a long struggle to move back toward our pre covid economy.

January's blowout job count and large wage gains
dashed prospects of a rate cut in March however.

    Nevertheless,
resilient demand and strong worker productivity
are likely encouraging businesses to hire and
retain more employees, a trend that could shield
the economy from a recession this year!

Pathetic that right wing media is freaking out over Taylor Swift's long time endorsement of democrats and their policies.  Nothing wrong with her urging people to register to vote.  But republicans find that threatening because they don't want people to vote and want to make it harder.

It is unbelievably wet over here right now.  Never seen it this bad ever.  But I have to wonder if the damage and destruction will be used by MAGAS to blame President Biden.

Case closed as Biden's classified documents probe ends with no indictment.  In contrast, Trump still faces felony charges for storing documents at Mar-a-Lago because of obstruction and refusal to return documents.  He continues to lie about double standard of justice.

as expected    since the republicans have made it very clear  many different times in recent years that a sitting president can not be indicted

i dont think it should b that way at all  , since    nobody is above the law

but thats the way the republicans have stated almost unanimously when chump was the subject matter

to the republicans credit in cable news or other media i dont see anyone being blatantly hypocritical and calling for an indictment of our current sitting president

    not yet anyways

A recently reintroduced bill in the U.S. House could scrap federal taxes on Social Security benefits starting in 2025, putting more money back into the pockets of retirees.

On Jan. 25, Rep. Angie Craig, D-Minn., reintroduced legislation, dubbed the “You Earned It, You Keep It Act,” that would repeal the taxation of Social Security benefits, while also extending the program's solvency by 20 years.

I think putting a little more money back into the hands of so many people even if only a small amount is still a good thing.  But will the clown show party oppose and defeat it?

It turns out Tucker Carlson's grocery bill he bragged about paying at a Moscow supermarket cost more than 50% of the average Russian's weekly salary.

Ceasefire proposal from Biden and allies

A US official said there is a “framework deal”
that Israel has “more or less accepted.”
The sticking point, the official says, is that
Hamas has not yet agreed to a
    “defined category of vulnerable hostages.”

    The official added the US
has held “a number of meetings” in Israel
and a meeting in Paris in the past several weeks.
The official also said meetings are “ongoing”
    Saturday in Doha, Qatar.

Tough negotiations but can't give in to HAMAS terrorism or any terrorism around the globe for that matter, including the Russians.

Who decides who's a terrorist though? Are you aware of the atrocities we're committing around the world, pretty much daily? Are you aware of the atrocities Israel are committing right now? They're literally slaughtering innocents. Firing on women and children. Even Biden, who has been pro-Israel, pro Netanyahu is starting to pull back. Women and children are dying. Famine is taking hold. Look at the death toll on either side. This isn't a war, it's a genocide.

As far as Russia and Ukraine, we need to let Slavs deal with Slavs and see where the dust settles. I have yet to see anyone provide a viable reason for our involvement in that region. Protecting Europes "bread basket", as if it has any bearing on our economy. Half are country is a damn bread basket. Strategic positioning? This one is obvious but how would we feel if Russia courted Mexico? We wouldn't allow it. This whole thing is nothing more than a proxy war to pump money into defense contractors. Not including small arms, there's only like 4 or 5 contractors providing weapons systems. They make a mint off these things, which in turn makes money for BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard, etc. They get you boomers all fired up by turning Putin into some comic book villian. Warmongers have been using this tactic for 70 years. It's a farce.

Tulsi Gabbert was a rising political star. She had all the things liberal love. She was a person of color, a woman. She spoke out against unnecessary warfare that puts are young men and woman at risk while doing nothing to make Americans safer or enhance our lives and they buried her. Made her look crazy so that no one would pay attention to her. She's a damn combat veteran.

They have no intention. Israel, both it's political leadership and it's citizens, seek to exterminate the Palestinians, and drive any survivors out of the Gaza strip and West Bank. They have no interest in two states. Look it up. You don't have to dig deep. Watch the nightly news. Watch 60 minutes. Netanyahu has made his position clear. And the atrocities that are occuring are pretty well documented. I'm not one of those pro-Palestine rah rah hippies but we are literally witnesing a genocide. And because it's Israel, we call "fighting terrorism". It's a one-sided slaughter.

Everybody knows PB is my brother from another mother. I don't want him to read this and think i'm all of a sudden pro-Palestine. I don't give a shite about Palestine but I believe in calling a spade a spade. We're witnessing a genocide.
