Republican Bill Johnson just submitted his resignation to the House of Representatives effective Jan. 21.

The Republican majority will then go to 219, meaning Republicans will only be able to lose two votes.

Longtime NRA leader Wayne LaPierre is set to face trial in the corruption case brought by New York AG Letitia James after a state court rejected arguments that the investigation was politically motivated.  

The trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 8.

I can hear it now, "On advice of counsel, blah blah blah!"

A federal judge today ordered former KY Clerk Kim Davis to pay $260K in attorney fees & 100k to the couple involved after she refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Her refusal took place in 2015. 

What took so damn long???

As expected, electing more republicans to House would just produce dysfunction and gridlock.  Blame MAGA republicans for the least productive House in decades.  They seem to be more interested in whining and burning things down instead of governing.  Oddly, republicans struggle in easy job of electing a speaker.  In contrast, Pelosi's House is a model of efficiency in achieving major legislations.  Democrats see problems and offer solutions.  Whereas republicans ignore problems and oppose solutions.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Defense Department will install solar panels on the Pentagon, part of the Biden administration's plan to promote clean energy and “reestablish the federal government as a sustainability leader.”

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department wants former Trump White House adviser Peter Navarro to spend six months behind bars after being convicted of criminal contempt of Congress for ignoring a subpoena.

Federal prosecutors said in a court filing Thursday that Navarro “deserves severe punishment” that includes a $200,000 fine in addition to prison time. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan 25.
