Is it safe to say that extra drilling does not make a single difference?
Is it also safe to say that we need to start kissing some Muslim ass?
Look at it like this shrimp. Farmers can pick what they want to farm for the most part. Corn prices go to shit, in comparison to a huge increase in demand and price for Soy. So, if you were a corn farmer, and could grow Soy instead, would you grow the Soy with intentions of selling it on the cheap, or would you be growing it to get the market value
maybe that's a bad analogy, but it makes sense to me that price has gone up enough to make the big companies that donate to the US gov't start to get the idea that it might just be worth their while to start tapping possible fields in USA.
also, SA i don't know if you would call it bs posturing. I'd say more like determining a business plan. Congress heads to vacation, yet some wigs stay behind and under the radar to work , no it's to get some groundwork layed for the next big money project, homemade oil

“Any policy that causes the expected future oil price to fall can cause the current price to fall.... ........ it is possible to bring down today’s price of oil with policies that will have their physical impact on oil demand or supply only in the future.”

Where do you think we got the money from to finance the deficit?
We BORROWED the money and floated it via Bush bringing back the 30 yr treasury bond that Clinton stopped while in office.
Also, the government has been hiding expendiatures for decades by raiding the SS fund, the social service pension fund etc and we will never know exactly how much money the FED could have hid for the war since M3 is not reported..the treasury could have slid short term money all over the place and had it be part of their normal operations.
Unless we had 100% transparency we will never know exactly how much we spent in REAL dollars and how much involvement the FED had in making things work.
One other thing..we know the money given towards the invasion, but we have no idea how much "under the table" greasing money was slid or money to other governments for their involvement etc.
The point is we will never know.
