@wallstreetcappers Well, since it did happen... Prices cannot go lower based on supply if the price of OIL is not high enough to allow for the marginal fringe fracking to exist. Amazing how it seemed to work just fine the past year. Do research before you just assume your presuppositions are correct.
Your measure does not meet the lie. Production in 2025 was .1 million higher than the production increase in 2024. In 2024 production was up .3 million vs 2023 and in 2025 production was up .4 versus 2024 that is a .1 increase year over year. Estimates are projecting a decline in 2026 vs 2025 because of lower prices for crude in the second half of 2025.
Sorry I do not consider a .1 increase year over year to be material and especially when you compare the year over year numbers post covid prior to Trump being in office. For all his promises none of what he said has come true because it cannot, lies cannot be realized just because you state them.

What was the promise(s), what did he say and when did he claim that to take place and what full promises did he make?
I assume you mean the general claims that you stated above. Gas prices would come down, production would go up and the country would become more energy independent.
It certainly seems to be trending that way.
There are a lot of things you can knock the guy on -- gas prices coming down is not one of them.

Make sure you give context with your slathering of praise. How much year over year did those meager increases go up? How much 2024 vs 2025? Pointing out a single figure without proper context looks weak and partisan since it is your claim that 2025 production can increase in weeks or months even if what you are bragging about was material. I do not consider a 4% increase to be material and I especially like you slid in the MORE to smooth over the outright laughable lie he repeatedly made about energy independence. You cannot defend that claim nor any of the others he made.
The US cannot and will never be energy independent and a small increase in fracking does not mean there is a MOVE to energy independence let alone the claim he made about the US BEING energy independent.
Stop with the cover just come out and say that Trump is Uncle Liar but he means well, he lies and wanders and says whatever the drone in front of him needs to hear and he has no possible way of ever accomplishing his lies. We all know it, you know it and yet your stubborn partisan pride cannot allow you to just stop with the fake lies and make believe crap he spouts.

The issue is when someone makes claims you have to hold them to those claims. So if a software developer on my team says they will deliver the update for the module on Jan 1 and that the update will contain all the agreed upon changes in FULL, that is the measure of acceptable promise. If that developer delivers 25% of the update incomplete on March 1st that does not meet the agreed upon promise.
Trump made promises, many promises and with that comes the terms and time frame to which he made them. If someone days DAY ONE that means day one, not Uncle Liar is drunk again and has no idea what he is saying. If Trump says a 50% reduction in costs his first year it means by Jan 2026 a 50% or more reduction in costs. If Trump says the US will be energy independent, that is what the terms are and what it means. I do not have to give him praise when he does not deliver I do not have to elevate a liar and a fraud who intentionally and repeatedly lies and has no recourse for his lies. I dont care if he makes outlandish foolish promises, he can do that all day long I just will hold him responsible for his lies and deception and his wandering stupidity.
You can always tell a blind partisan Trump fan, there is never accountability or responsibility and the blame shifting and finger pointing is never ending. You backed him and still back him that means you also own his lies and fraud because you do not hold him accountable and actually try to insert terms to make him look better than what he is.\

I backed him on lowering gas prices. That is what we are talking about.
Unless you mean over Biden's energy policies -- sure I would prefer Trump's energy politics.
Why do you not support him on these? Just because he is Trump and you detest the guy.

You cannot massage promises to alter them so you can fit a narrative that is deception and lies and you are doing that with the way you craft your narrative.
I gave my example above if my team worker says they will be delivering the update to the module with the agreed upon changes on X date that means the promise is made and the terms are set.
Trump made/makes promises and he did not keep them to the terms and definitions he stated. What is so difficult for you to understand the parameters and terms to a promise?
If I promise you meet you at the golf course this afternoon and that we will play a round of golf and I show up a week later to hit a bucket of balls does this meet the definition of the promise and the expectation?
The promise was DAY ONE the promise was by Jan 2026 a 50% reduction in costs, the promise was lower inflation, energy bills DAY ONE.
How can someone that makes a defined promise with specific terms be so difficult for you to understand and come to terms with?
You backed a liar and a fraud and I think you know that as you are forced to insert back patting terms to make him look less absurd....MORE is a cool term since he did not define his promise with that word. Big mouth likes big sweeping outlandish terms. Big outlandish terms and promises unkept are LIES and FRAUD.

The promise was not MORE anything it was the US will be energy independent, even the subjective term MORE is laughable since we are a capitalist economy and all...kinda gotta remember that you cannot be part of the world market and allow offshoring of your production and be co mingled with a cartel and remotely think you can be energy independent.
He made the silly claim and you try to soften it with MORE...what does MORE mean even if that were an allowable lie? MORE means we are not reliant on non-US sources for our energy needs that we consume our supply and do not export ANY of our production of oil or products. THAT is independent, you know not reliant on anything non US.

I am not asking about analogies, examples, or your personal interpretations -- I am not even asking about anything other than the three that apply here.
You brought these three up and they are what we are talking about.
Are gas prices down -- YES
Is fracking production up -- YES
Are you more energy independent and moving more and more in that direction -- YES
The bottom line is THIS thread is about gas prices coming down.
They did. So, no matter how much credit you want to give Trump or not. He gets credit for it because he said it would happen and it did, while he was in office.
If Biden was still in office he would have deserved some credit as well. But Biden could not do anything to address it because he was handcuffed; Trump is not.
So, no lies were told. Now anyone can argue about should he have done the things he did or not and how much they affected the prices.
But what you cannot argue about is that it did happen.

A quick general search says, yes.
Yes — by standard U.S. government definitions, the United States is currently energy independent in the sense that it produces more energy (in total) than it consumes and exports more energy than it imports.
So, no matter how much you nitpick it -- this is one issue he was correct on.

People that can only digest hate and change that they do not like or accept...see it a lot in business...anytime change is implemented and you go away from the norm people get anxious and tend not to be on board....basically resistant...

This is amusing to see you deflect and soften his claim, it was his claim and his promise and that was not anything about MORE. I know you instructed me that you are not interested in examples even if they are perfectly applicable and on point, no we cannot have examples to give reference...we are in the business of deflect and deny versus holding someone accountable.
That said...another droning example which is spot on point to the level of excellence and it has to do with me personally.
I installed solar panels over ten years ago and with that I signed a 25 year agreement with the power supplier down here where my production is net metered and that means I do not have to count intraday usage and then credit intra day supply my system creates it is a net situation which benefits them and it in ways benefits me but also does not benefit me.
When I installed the solar I was producing probably 75-80% of my usage but with this agreement the power company has a reconciliation date for all production which is May 31st. They total all my excess production and give me a bill credit based on WHOLESALE average elec costs for them. Where that is good is I get a bill credit but where it is bad is I cannot carry forward into the USE months which are June to Nov where I produce less than I consume. So they pay me wholesale on what I stored up and then come summer I pay peak massive rates on any usage which of course is WHY they do it.
Anyhoo...a few years ago I upgraded my panels to increase production and now I produce MORE than I consume, so using your logic this means I am energy independent right? WRONG...I participate with the net metering program and even though I produce MORE than I consume I still have a bill for two months of the year because of my participation with the utility in my area.
Same goes with the outright and blatant lie about energy independence. We never will be energy independent and it does not matter that we produce MORE than we consume because prices that the US consumer pays is based on participation in global markets. Oil prices and thus gas prices are directly tied to world markets and the cartel even IF we allegedly produce more than we consume. Trump obviously does not understand market dynamics and truths to the point of spewing lies about this and about every other promise he made. I do not believe out of touch clowns so whatever he said I knew was a flat out lie meant to get votes and this entire thread about Trump being able to cut 50% off of production costs, for Trump to cut gas prices, grocery prices, inflation on the FIRST DAY, for Trump to promise a two sided coin is just part of his platform of deception and fraud.

Of which every politician participates in freely and willingly to obtain votes and donors....it's a saddening state of affairs we find ourselves in over and over again...some issues get held up by government platforms, but mostly it is just rhetoric spit out time and time again because it sounds like something the people could get behind...but to think this is only happening right now with this administration and that it has not been happening for decades upon decades is foolish thinking for anyone that thinks that...to me, it's not about who lies more or who lies less, citizens deserve better and should not be lied to for potential gain...if it cannot be accomplished once you take office, then come out and say why and where the hold up is, but that doesn't often take place and so the voters are left with a false sense and that they were duped...it's cyclical and disgusting and one of the reasons why our politics is so whacked...

The momentum built in 2025 sets the stage for continued U.S. energy leadership in 2026. Permitting reform, expanded offshore development, and renewed investment in Alaska will remain central to meeting growing global demand. Europe is actively reducing reliance on Russian energy, while Asian markets are increasing imports of U.S. LNG.
At home, think tanks and policy experts are stressing energy strategies that bolster economic competitiveness and grid reliability while accounting for growing electricity needs from AI, data centers, and electrification. AI and data centers are driving significantelectricity demand in North America and Asia, highlighting the need for flexible, reliable natural gas to stabilize grids and integrate renewables efficiently.
U.S. energy remains a critical tool for allies and a foundation of domestic prosperity. 2026 will be a year where energy leadership, pragmatic policy, and technological innovation converge to provide reliable, affordable, and globally impactful energy.
Bottom Line
2025 reinforced that the United States can lead the world in energy production while strengthening the economy, meeting global demand, and reducing emissions. With policy reform, infrastructure investment, and continued innovation, the U.S. oil and natural gas industry enters 2026 positioned to deliver affordable, reliable energy at home and abroad.
