Deficit Soars

For September 2024, the government reported a $64 billion surplus, compared to a $171 billion deficit in September 2023, but the improvement was largely due to calendar adjustments for benefit payments. Without these, there would have been a $16 billion deficit in September 2024.

Bill Clinton DID NOT balance the budget in 1995, Newt Gingrich and the GOP did to a tune of $128.2 billion surplus.  Slick Willy Clinton was in office when it happened but just like our fearless leader said in a previous post it is congress that does this.  Bill and Hillary Clinton tried to engineer a federal takeover of the health care system, that plan would have sent the government’s finances off the charts.

must be a tax thing??  You know that's funny you say that, sometimes I check the lines on Draft and the time/ date stamps don't match up.

I try to use walk up Rivers as much as possible to avoid Uncle Sam from online wagers, but the juice is always digging into any profit and sometimes the line/juice turns you off the bet because Rivers sucks.  I actually found two tickets in my truck that were just over year from the game and Rivers wouldn't cash them.  It's not like Vegas that has competition across the street.  Only route I didn't try is through the state gambling claim because it was only $400 in winners.  Granted  not pocket change but I am sure if I pressed the issue my limits may come under question...you never know

Newsy LaLonde is my cousin.  So, anyone on here can now figure out who I am, not that any of that matters.  I can say no one here in my circle of life ever heard of him but he has a statue or had one at some point

One other note, my children all know the Canadian anthem since we play it before the games on the ice and they proudly support it at every game we attend

It seems the Dems thought they had a tool to beat him with.....then he took that away by saying he's totally fine with it's removal. I don't think both sides see it's removal for the same reasons.

Methinks they (Dems) are hoping to get this idea thru, for when they get back in the executive seat in the future. Then they could really go nutz.

So, what happens with RFK stadium now?  I believe that was thrown out.  That place was a toilet back in 1994, and the hood around it wasn't any better.  30 years later it's still getting the shaft.  But at least the bridge will rebuild way over budget just like everything else the government has their paws in.  Maybe this time have it a suspension bridge so no terrorists can crash a cargo ship into the piers.
