Covid-19 Good And Bad

The FDA told most employees to expect to continue working from home through at least May 1 to help contain the coronavirus, rejecting President Trump’s goal of reopening the country by Easter.

Looking at the current situation, I believe that's a sound decision.

Thats sad in a way, a lot of those "most employees" will not have a job if that comes true.

This is the situation in Detroit.

The Governor of Florida is denying access to the Miami Herald to his press conference.

The Herald is our largest paper in the state and is read by thousands. All media should ban attendance at his press conferences.

This farker failed to close the beaches and helped spread the virus to other states based on his decision.

We can see what's happening in our state. We don't need no stinkin press conferences!

Today 13% of the NYPD is out sick, 4,651 officers. Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said he expects 900 to have tested positive for coronavirus by tomorrow morning. Terrible news.

On a positive note, crime is down in most big cities.

Liberty University, which partly reopened its campus amid the coronavirus pandemic, confirmed they now have almost a dozen students sick with potential COVID-19 symptoms. Parents of these students are equally complicit

I'm sure Falwell will convince his followers this virus can be prayed away.

Trump making an insinuation, without a modicum of evidence, that medical supplies "going out the backdoor" may be a reason for the shortage is irresponsible. He further told reporters they should look into it.

If he really believed this to be the case, he could use the full power of the DOJ to fully research the situation.  

People will believe his statements & his rhetoric will continue to divide the country at a time when we need to come together.

Individuals citizens and small companies are doing what the government & large corporations could not regarding supplies for our medical providers.

Unfortunately this week's new unemployment figure will increase from the 3.3 number last week.

Miami-Dade schools allotted 2,000 laptops for students to use at home to continue their learning at home.

Only 761 students/parents have picked up the laptops. That's less than 40% of households.

Watching the news, we can see many organizations providing food for their communities. 

But I saw people driving Escalades, Beamers, Mercedes and Lexus vehicles.

I have a little bit of a social disconnect there & didn't expect to see expensive cars in line for food.     

Some of our governors are doing a fantastic job but all have experienced medical order supplies ordered from vendors disappear in the marketplace. 

Cuomo, Dewine, Bel Edwards, Newsom, Hogan, Cooper, Whitmer, Ingslee. & Baker have all experienced this problem. 

The Seafood Industry is getting crushed. Business is so bad crab fishermen are not even planning to lay their traps on April 1st. The demand for crab is so low it will not pay the operating expenses including the employee payroll.

They are just one of many industries getting clobbered.

A Pastor in a Tampa church held services against the state order of social distancing and was arrested for his actions.

This is horrible news.

During the period of March 27 thru March 30th virus cases doubled in Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. 

Stay Home!  

Zero income for many neighbors, friends and families.
