Unions havent been needed for 20 plus years and have added layers and layers of costs and inefficiencies to the businesses I listed above.
The point is that there ARE companies who use American workers who make a better product and make a profit doing it. Those companies are not choked by unions and monster benefit plans like the US automakers are.
Also I think the quaility problem exists in EVERY line and model our automakers produce, including trucks and SUVs. I have a Honda SUV (Pilot) and I have friends who have domestic SUVs and I paid LESS, mine will hold value better, gets superior gas mileage and is designed and produced with a higher quality overall.
Sorry but I wont be buying a domestic vehicle any time soon and havent since I started driving. Only once in my life have I owned a domestic and that was because I didnt have enough money to own an import at that point in time (15 yrs ago)

I'm glad you have shown that you support moving jobs out of the country for low wages and such. You my friend are a great American.
Also you trying to tie in the Union policies against corporations and the current economic situation is laughable. Try understanding how billions of dollars for a war that should have never happened is not affecting the economy
Where did I say that I supported moving jobs out of the USA? I never said anything of the sort. By the way, I'm sure you know that Clinton is responsible for NAFTA. What's that done for our economy?
What part of unions and democratic politicians effect on the cost of doing buisness do you not understand?

Fish. what part of deregulation, no regulation low corporate taxation , outsourcing for sweatshop labor dont you understand. How has that worked for us the last 71/2 yeras. If you want to find the prototype for recession and depression in this country all you have to do is look at deregulating Hoover ,deficit increasing Reagan and Bush the elder with their uncontrolled military spending and the village idiot we have now who believes you can cut taxes in a time of war, an unprecedented theory that has failed miserably. Reagan and the 2 shrubs have accounted for 75% of the U.S. deficit in their combined 20 year reign of terror. And who brought Hoover out of depression, Bush the elder out of recession and the village idiot out of recession soon to be depression, FDR,CLINTON and ?. Dont even try to extol the virtues of your dont tax the rich ,spend more money on war fleece the middle and lower class because the money will trickle down when the rich are richer,it dont work. Does this country have to go absolutely bankrupt before you can realize that.

Dude, get back to me when you realize that the USA is by design, a CAPITALIST REPUBLIC, not a democracy.

While I do not agree with Karl Marx's views, he was an intelligent man. He said in the end a Capitalist society will always fail. The rich will become too rich and the middle and lower class will start to revolt. The fact is the middle class and lower class out # the upper class and very wealthy. So if you piss them off to the point of no return there will be another civil war.

jpero, I remember Marx saying that the natural progression of a capitalist society was communism a socialist society where everyone enjoys the labor of the collective..............
Mao's China didn't do so well with that way of thinking.........without having a capitalist society first for a socialist system to feed off there can be no communism. Collectives do not encourage the production needed to advance the collective group.......
In the end going from a capitalist society to a socialist society ( redistribution of all the wealth) it would become a State controlled goverment and a eventual return to a feudal system........with all the Pigs in control and the only ones that can read and walk on two feet...........
Animal Farm redux..........

What part did you not understand? By the way you never answered my question the last time that you didn't like what I had to say. Were you born in the United States or not?

Well, Obama is going to have to come up with a larger bribe, er, make that stimulus package to get my vote. It is worth the $1000 to me for him to NOT get in and raise taxes on my relatives more than that EVERY YEAR! I would reconsider for $5000, LOL, by the time it is all said and done it will probably be worth half that in the grand scheme of things.
