Ok, I'm finished researching the Punk fight.
I found quite a bit.
Punk is now down to +153 which are his worst odds to date. Therefore, unbettable based on the poor odds alone.
Mike Jackson, a clown in his own right, is -183. And I'm not paying -183 for an 0-1 MMA fighter.
The bottom line? Jackson has NO ground game. Punk to date has shown he has NO ground game (although that is the only way he can win because he not a striker).
Jackson is an ex-boxer + kick boxer and has been fighting for a decade. He likes to feel out his opponents and wear them down. Punk has no real fighting ability (known fighting ability at least) so he'll be feeling out Jackson as well.
On top of all this, the major mockery that was used against Punk was two long he lasted the previous fight against Gall (2:21). So I believe Punk and his team will consider it a 'win' even if he goes the distance.
The longer the fight, the better chance Punk has at getting another shot win or lose, and I think that will be the goal.
While I think Jackson will win the price is far too great. So I'll play the rounds.
