A 'Lucky Loser' is a player who loses in the final qualifying round but ends up with an entry into the main draw after another player withdraws. So it's not derogatory, it's just remarkable when such a player advances since they were basically eliminated from the tournament before it started but got 'lucky'. Sierra literally found out she was drawn to replace Greet Minnen 15 minutes before her first round match started.
