Pitbulls are one of the "most loyal" breeds of dogs around. Most of the so called "pitbulls" these days are fat over weight half breeds. I like the look but they are worthless. They are not real pitbulls. Inbreeding to get that freak apperance will screw a dog up.
The "original" pitbull terrier didnt get past 60lbs. I would take a 50lb "game" pitbull over any "American Bully".
Get you an AMERICAN BULLDOG and be done with it

You're are right re: todays pitbull terrier superbets. They are bred irresponsilby and are in the wrong hands of irresponsible dog owners. It has'nt always been like that.
Even though this breed was bred for "fighting in a pit" hence, pit, they were also bred to be non human aggresive. The most game pitbull should never be human aggressive.
These dogs are as loyal as they come and love to be around its family members.They are not guard dogs and they barely bark unless prohibated. Back in the days owners had Dobermans and Rottweilers to protect their game dogs from being stolen.
A tested pitbull (game) pitbull usually weighs 35lbs or less and even this dog should be non human aggressive.
The perception of this bred is that comes from the inner city. WRONG!!! Don Mayfeild, Maurice Carver, Floyd Boudeaurx, Louis Colby to name a few were the orignal "thugs" that bred this dog to fight.
These dogs are as silly and playful as any other breed. Public perception of this dog is terrible. A few nuckle heads "vick" the OP and news footage give this dog a bad rap and its just not true of this breed. If socailized througout its entire life by responsible owners they make a great family pet.

Whats your deal with the inner city thing you keep bringing up race/caucasian cops/inner city /thugs I could care less about that, im beginning to think youre the one with the race problem. Peace out guys the pit owners have responded with rage at the obvious facts about their potentially disastrous decision to have this mutt as a pet. Just know that in Canada all pit bulls must be muzzled when taken out in public FWIW
2 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. Just two weeks ago a 6 year old girl in my state was playing in the snow in front of her house and was attacked and killed by one of these beasts. Last year in the US over 50 people were killed by these mutts and yet no one seems to care and a great many fools keep them as family pets, god help you dumbasses that do that. I live in a rural area and any pit bull that that i see that is not chained and muzzled is dead, it may take me a few weeks to do it but eventually that god forsaken mutt comes within shooting range of my property and he is gone. There shouild be a federal law to exterminate these animals passed today!
