Well it’s a quick flight. Europe and South America are far. 

We were originally thinking Buenos Aires or Rio de Janeiro but no direct flights so it would be like 16 hours worth of traveling. 

Plus I have a colleague who retired, went down to Mexico, throwing his money around (like an idiot), trying to be a big shot... and we're pretty sure he's dead now. Mexican dudes answering his phone talking about he ran off with a chick. Mexicans calling back to SF trying to access his pension. Feeling some type of way about Mexico right now.

Went for my sister's birthday last year so that would have been July. Everybody and their mama was going to Tulum because of covid shutdowns. Was just too many people. Too many common folk, as fucking horrible as that sounds. I come from humble beginnings. I've got no issue with common folk. I'd even say I'm in my element but time and place, you know? That was almost a year ago and I'm sure things have settled. Plus you can just not leave your resort and mitigate all of that but there's some cool shit to do in the surrounding area, specifically caving and seeing the ruins.

It is more of easy getaway as opposed to a full on trip as if going to South America or Europe and your chick will I'm sure love it, which is what matters, but you know how we dudes can be about such things.

Damn July is probably their slow season too.

 And we flew from Houston so it really was a quick flight. I had to fly from Oregon to Houston but that was a few days in advance and wasn't a connection. My sister just lives in Houston and the group traveled from there as a party.

My one sister had covid, got vaccinated technically before her age group. Took my parents and talked then into giving it to her. My other sister... "Fuck all that vaccine jazz, I'm going to Mexico." And Florida every other weekend. To each their own, people.

I've been trying to convert Tox to the school of thought that all organized politics, and the two party system, is all bullshit.
