So the NFL has changed the format for wild card weekend. Instead of having 3 games on Sat and 3 on Sunday, they will now have only 2 games on Sat and move that 3rd game to Monday night.
Warren Sharp posted something interesting regarding the week after wild card weekend ...
The wild card winners who played on Sunday the following week were 19-7 ATS.
The wild card winners who played on Saturday the following week were 6-6 ATS.
That extra day of rest/preparation matters. Now one team will advance after having played on Monday night ![]()

Giants 11-1 ATS off of a Thursday game...
I have no idea how long a period of time that covers, but safe to say it goes way back to when NY had good players and good coaches. Today they have neither, so not sure of the significance of it. Plus, the ones who make the lines are aware that there will be some gamblers who are swayed by that trend, and they will shade the line accordingly ![]()

@trainwreck66
I only watch the Good Looking Women in Beaverball, I actually before the pandemic bet on WNBA and did well, low scoring FH take second half over or FH overs and game under, if you lose FH over take second half over and good chance you hit both, never watched a game but made money on it also team down big at half take them second half. They will usually have a terrible 1/4 in most games, seen a team put up 100 in FH and come out in 3rd 1/4 and score 8 points, but the Good Lookers are the Best.

Don't you have a couple bets on Giant futures at different odds or was that the other couple guys from pre-baseball thread that had futures on Giants? Giants still up a game on Dodgers but you know that is coming down to the end and if you remember I said if the Dodgers got Max they would win the Division and he is the reason the Giants did not pull away with his 7-0 record with LA, other advantage Dodgers have is they play Brewers L-3 games and by then the Brewers will have nothing to play for so they do not have great pitching but whoever they consider the top 3 starters should all be rested those games and closer will not be called in those games either I would think. Also Dodgers are 10-0 in all games Max has started including the game last night that you mention when the Dodgers tied it up in 9th took him off the hook.
@Hugh_Jorgan
Sounds like I am right on pace with the rest of you, the reason I was watching NBA before last couple years was my Warriors were winning titles so that kept me watching another 6 years, and baseball has always been my favorite sport to bet on plus I do not bet football until a few games in really so will see what I do next week.
GL to you all this weekend and Go Giants.

@JEG53
Yea I placed that future before the Dodgers got Max and Turner, highway robbery man. And it was another poster who posted his 2 different odds, like 100 times he reminded everyone.
I uses to bet wnba, those broads definitely ragged at the same time

@JEG53 With the exception of the NFL, for the most part I stopped watching sports regularly about 5 yrs ago. It just lost it's significance in my life. NFL has always been my favorite, plus it's the only sport that I still bet on, which has a lot to do with it. As Sac said, I haven't watched an NBA game in a long time ... at least 10 yrs. Most of my friends who were once avid sports fans, are still fans, but they are what I call peripheral fans. They keep in touch with the results, but are no longer emotionally invested. I wonder if we all stopped gambling, how emotionally invested we would still be in the outcome of games. I'm not talking about your favorite team in your favorite sport, I mean every other team in every other game
This is why we have pro sports franchises taking advertising dollars from gambling related entities. The NFL has always been on top of this trend, first embracing fantasy football and now partnering with Caesars Entertainment, while individual franchises endorse Draftkings, Fanduel, and MGM.
Hell, there has to be at least a dozen PGA Tour golfers who are sporting Bet MGM apparel.
Amazing how many times I'm at a sports bar on a Sunday afternoon and the ambient conversation is more about fantasy points and the spread rather than who is winning or losing.
Not like this is anything new. Many of us got our first taste of the NFL through parlay cards. Big difference is it's mostly legal and socially acceptable now. The old "skin in the game" theory.

In the summer newsletter I had written about this. The revenue from gambling will be in the billions. The salary cap is based upon a percentage of the revenue. The record deal that Mahomes signed will be one of the most team friendly contracts within a few years ![]()

The Bills are -16 vs the Texans(on extra rest) next week, and the Chiefs will be on deck. Saw the line yesterday, now it's off. I'll take me some Texicans week 4
Looks like DK has it, and there's a hook. I'll take it now.
Texans +16.5(-110) *1.10/1.00

The coaching mismatch in this game is off the radar. Buffalo can name the score if they choose. Houston is who we thought they were.

Have to say sometimes those fantasy football guys are way worse than those watching with a bet on a game, fantasy guys do not care about the score, it could be 100 to 7 but if they still have a chance for points they will not let you change the TV to a better game and they will want to be able to watch 6 games since they might have one player in one game and they have to have it, 2 of my friends play in a couple of the same leagues and they never talk score just points so and so has so far, and since they are friends they bug me about games more than others.
@undermysac
Yes I went back and looked, it was hard to find your futures but 2 others that claim futures on Giants posted there bets everytime we mentioned the Giants and they won today so 8 games left with 1 game lead.

@bigred84 Your QB is also banged up with a bad hip from that flip he needlessly did into the end zone

Looks like I got the best of Detroit at +9. Good to be lucky sometimes
