(Spain vs Russia)
It seems a good line to try tomorrow with the boy.
These were his scoring averages in the group stage:
vs Montenegro -> 9 points / 25 minutes
vs R.Checa -> 5 points / 20 minutes
vs Romania -> 7 points / 21 minutes
He did not exceed the line in any game, although it was certainly not necessary. Spain won by a great margin of points these parties and all the players were very participatory.
vs Croatia -> 12 points / 20 minutes
We all remember that this match was very hard, and it is not for less since Spain almost lost it. (73-79) Sergio here exceeded the line in few minutes.
vs Turkey -> 11 points / 30 minutes
vs Germany -> 11 points / 25 minutes
vs Slovenia -> 9 points / 25 minutes
Line surpassed in the first two games. What I like most is that Croatia, Turkey and Germany (teams against which Sergio has surpassed the line) are of the Russian style. Defensive teams with only one or two clear offensive references.
His 25-30 minutes of play he will has, and you have to keep in mind that he is now one of the leading scorers in the perimeter of Spain. Along with Ricky Rubio, both are the most triples try per game (4.2), where he has a percentage of 44.1%. In T2, it has a 48.1%.
Even if he comes out of revulsive, he is always a constant threat, and remember that he is a player that besides pulling well from outside, he dominates the pick & roll very well and likes to penetrate and attack the hoop very well. It sounds good, as Russia received 42 points in the paint against Serbia.
In short: in any possible scenario I see his essential contribution to overcome a team that is going to fight for the bronze and has nothing to lose.
Sergio Rodriguez -> Over + 9.5 points
