Question

Got a few plays that I really like this round.

Starting Friday night with a double header

1. Illawarra Hawks @ Brisbane Bullets Over 180.5

The pace and style of play should be fast end to end baskets with not a great deal of resistance on defence. A fun game to watch and I expect the score to land around the 190+ mark if both teams play true to form.

2. Sydney Kings @ Perth Wildcats -11.5 (Medium Play)

3. Sydney Kings @ Perth Wildcats -6.5 1H

4. Sydney Kings TT Under 79.5 @ Perth Wildcats (Medium Play)

Been really busy, can't add comments to this game until I get some time later tonight. Really like this play as you can see.

Round 3 Hawks hosted the Bullets and won 105-96 in a frenetic pace game and a fracas that resulted 7 charges levelled against 5 players. A good revenge spot for the Bullets tonight.

The Jungle has always been a tough place for any visiting teams to come and play. Part of this reason is due to the time zone difference and the hostile crowd.

Kings are leaking points by the truckload and their offence can be stagnant at times without their captain Lisch. They are still working players into the rotation and searching for the right chemistry. The bulk of their offence revolves around Cadee, Newley and Ellis. Coach Gaze is unproven at this level and will surely have his work cut out coming up against a championship calibre coach in Gleeson.

I really like Perth's roster this year, they are one of the best defensive teams and can put points on the board with some long and athletic players like Cooke and Tokoto.

Damian Martin is a ball hawk and will have the job of hounding and keeping Cadee in check all night. His partner in crime Tokoto is leading candidate for defensive player of the year with avg of 5 reb, 2.2 steals per game and 15.6 points per game.

Overall I can really see the Wildcats defence choking the life out of this Kings outfit and will force them into many errors and running the ball down their throat. If the Wildcats are switched on, this game will get ugly real fast and it will be over before you know it. Would be surprise if the Wildcats don't win this by 15+ points as the starters get a well deserved rest come the 4Q.

Hoping that my read on this game is spot on and we get the chocolates

Line is down to -10.5 right now D-Play with Sportsbet.. I think there is some money coming in on the Kings after their "great" win last weekend. Well I am with you buddy.. Tokoto and the great man Martin should have a field day on this Kings team. Cadee with most likely shot 2-10 all game long with Martin on him and then the issue you have is the bench. Cats bench deep, Kings bench weak. I don&#x27;t like laying high spreads in any league but there is always one thing you can count on and thats Perth destroying teams in a full capacity stadium on a Friday night in the JUNGLE!!!!!!

Saturday

1. Adelaide 36ers @ Melbourne United -3.5

2. Melbourne United TT Over 91.5

Not sure why the line opened so low for a United home game but I'll bite.United is Adelaide's bogey team as they've beaten Adelaide twice already this season in Adelaide (99-79 and 99-97). United's offense is at it's best when Goulding & Ware are in attack mode as they've combined for 46 points to torch Cairns on Thursday night. They played with more desperation, cranked up their defense and ran their high octane offense.

It is no secret that Adelaide loves the uptempo game but when they are forced to make plays in the half court, their offense tends to struggle. This is where United has the advantage as they can crank up the D and force Adelaide into errors and run the ball down their throats.

United looking to build momentum and overcome a patchy start to the season, should be too good for the 36ers on their home court.

6-0 this round and hoping to make it a clean sweep with my final play for this round on Sunday.

This play is based on a strong trend that I've noticed for teams playing in Perth and then having to fly out to play another game in 2 or 3 days time at a different venue. Teams in this spot have gone 0-4 in their next game after playing in Perth.

Below are the games that support my theory:-

1. Perth defeated Illawarra 89-84 in Perth on 13/10/17.

Illawarra then flew back to Sydney to play the Kings 2 days later and lost 87-103.

2. Perth defeated Melb United 89-84 on 22/10/17.

Melb United flew to New Zealand to play the Breakers 2 days later and lost 76-88.

Perth also flew to Cairns to play the Taipans 2 days later and lost 69-90 (Perth's only loss for the season)

3. Perth defeated Illawarra 105-74 in Perth on 26/10/17.

Illawarra then flew home to play the Kings 3 days later and lost 94-99 in overtime.

We are only into round 5 of the competition but the above teams are 0-4 backing up away from Perth 2 to 3 days later. Teams backing up from such a spot looked really lethargic and out of sync due perhaps to the long flight time and the time zone difference.

Hawks have been the unfortunate victim of this weird scheduling twice and are 0-2 against the Kings as a result. Hawks will be desperate for revenge tomorrow afternoon when the situation is reversed- Sydney returning from home from a 4.5 hour flight from Perth and to a different timezone after playing a late Friday night game.

Hawks will be rested and ready to ambush the Kings in Sydney after a short flight back from Brisbane where they've defeated the Bullets 112-81. It was an impressive all round team performance where they've dominated the glass, protected the ball and got 45 points from the Bench. They will look to carry this momentum over to Sundays game.

Apart from the bad scheduling spot, the Kings are facing a myriad of problems- team chemistry, injuries, leaky defence and undersized at the 4 spot. Travis Leslie has struggled to make an impact on this team. Coach Gaze is unproven at this level.

Bookies have made the Kings a small favorite at home due their 2-0 record over the Hawks.

I'll gladly fade the Kings here and grab the Hawks ML @ 2.15

Very nice angle you have their D-Play.. Massive fan of SDQL and certain angles and situations, unfortunately killersports doesn't have other basketball leagues on their database apart from NCAAB and NBA but that is a very nice angle mate.. Great weekend for you buddy

It was an insane round for me result wise 7-0!!!!. Hope we all make some $$$.

For those wondering about my record on posted plays. I just simply don't have the time these days to keep an accurate record but have been doing well in the past few seasons. I guess the size of my account balance is what matters to me at the end of the day.

The reason I post my NBL plays here is because I love this league and want to share ideas and angles on a particular pick. It is also my way of giving back to this forum where I first started posting and learnt a lot of valuable lessons as a punter along the way.

My buddy AussieDownUnder has done a fantastic job of posting plays (both WNBL & NBL) and sharing ideas on a particular pick in this part of the forum and I wish there could be more of us here chiming in to beat the books.
