Of course you could argue that he was taking a risk and wanted to close the game out for sure a little early but knowing the spread and the likelihood that most of the public money was probably on the Vikings for the blowout to me it was obviously related to betting. Every coach and armchair quarterback at home knows that the right decision is to punt the ball away when you're on your side of the field and you're up by like two touchdowns at home. I'm not sure if it was last year or the year before there was that weird ass onside kick where all the falcons players were around the ball and none of them touched it and they said they didn't know the rules. And again I guess that's possible but to me it's just more likely that it's related to gambling. What I don't get is the people who get super upset when people say professional sports are rigged I don't understand why are you trying to uphold the honor of the players the leagues or would it crush you to see that it's all manipulated for money. All big corporations cut corners break little legal loopholes for money. There's so much money in professional sports and gambling to me it's just impossible that there's not going to be some corruption and manipulation. These are human beings not saints.

    1. Pure conjecture. You can't even back this up with real knowledge of which side had the majority of the action. I promise you that even if there was more action on the Vikings, there's no way a 17 point favorite has action lopsided enough to warrant a fix in an NFL game.

    2. That onside kick had no effect on the wagering outcome. They were playing the Cowboys, week 2. The Cowboys won SU but didn't cover ATS. The total was already way over at this point in the game. You could say Atlanta was avoiding winning SU even though they covered but there was no way the Falcons will ever have more moneyline action than the Cowboys, no matter what the scenario. No team in football gets more lopsided action than the Cowboys except maybe the Patriots when they still had Brady.

     Like i told the other guy, average price for a small house where i live is above $1mill. Ur considered poor if u make less than 120k a year! Theres even an article that proves that. Theres plenty of money out there. Im not saying im the richest guy in the world, but ive been around that type of money. And depending on where u live, ur forced to make more than others in small states.

    No, sports betting is not rigged, but it is against your favor because of https://www.rotowire.com/betting/faq/question.php?q=vig-sports-betting-d03b8bbe.

    In order to make money, sports betting companies https://www.rotowire.com/betting/faq/question.php?q=sports-betting-companies-make-money-6e78da2c on losing bets, which is called the vig. Because of that, it may seem like sports betting is rigged, but that's simply to insure it's a source of revenue. If sports betting didn't make a profit, there would be no reason to legalize it across the country.

    For sports betting to exist, companies have to make money off it, which is why PASPA was struck down in 2018. While Nevada has been raking in millions of dollars through sports betting, new legislation will allow each state to benefit from sports gambling. If states are benefitting from sports betting, that means those wagering are losing money more often than not.  (THIS MAY BE YOU!)

    If you're losing because you think "sports betting is rigged" and can't get out of the game, there are resources to help. There are online guides, readily available access to addiction centers and a National Problem Gambling Helpline.

    I partied with Scott Stapp once. Dude goes hard with the best of 'em. I'd be surprised if he's still alive. This was like 5 years after Higher but they were still touring.

    @StumpTownStu

    You directly invalidated your own argument. you said "You can't even back this up with real knowledge of which side had the majority of the action." then you stated that "there was no way the Falcons will ever have more moneyline action than the Cowboys, no matter what the scenario."

    In any case, I did offer up that there were more plausible explanations, but I still personally believe pro sports, and especially the NFL, are manipulated for gambling.

    @gfugi

    My theory is that they are making so much money, basically living like gods, that no one in that scenario would be stupid enough to bite the hand that feeds them.

    I just thought of this right now but its like when executives or upper level managers know there company is doing shady shit, there not gonna say anything to lose their jobs and six, seven figure bonuses. could be similar with pro players.

    When I said "you", it wasn't meant as an impersonal pronoun. Like, "One can't tell..." I was saying you, specifically. For guys who really do this shit, there are resources to follow a)how many tickets and b)how much money, respectively, is on either side of a proposition. And frankly, you don't have to track action to know the Cowboys are always gonna have more action than the Falcons if they are playing each other. It pretty much goes without saying. Books put out inaccurate lines for the Cowboys all of the time just to cover their ass from lopsided Cowboys action.

    Never met anyone with a belief that sports are rigged who didn't just lose some money...

    TV ratings from the NY and LA markets would bring in much more revenue than a kick back from the sportsbooks. And yet the Lakers and Knicks are sitting at home. An Atlanta vs Phoenix finals is the NBA's worst nightmare and yet they're both still alive. Embiid has taken nearly as many free throws as the entire Hawks team. confused

    Too much technology in the world and too many people involved to seriously rig anything. Nobody could keep their mouth shut long enough to keep sports rigged

    I will joke from time to time like wow this is rigged, usually when I’m losing but negative with the nerds out there watching every play and posting videos on any issue no way these games can be fixed NBA, NFL, etc. Now if you want a fixed game bet Idaho +16 CBB vs Hawaii on a wed night at 1:00 am talk about a mob guys wet dream point shaving

Shit college schools that can be fixed and prob is but all the clowns saying monday night football or game 7 nba finals is fixed needs to be banned from gambling

    @WinBig555

     Why would 76ers rigged B2B games resulting in 2 losses? I'm asking because I don't have a answer, other the Doc Rivers typical coaching job.

    I saw it coming a mile away. When they were -10,000 in game I knew they would lose. That was one of my better predictions ever. I just wish I had posted the live pick on here to help some of you guys take advantage of that +2500 Atlanta ml payout. Before the game I actually took the other side. Its never wise to bet too early. Well never say never but most of the time it's unwise.

    Did you actually post this prediction or are you one of these guys that talks about what you predicted after the fact? Not talking shit. I've just never paid attention to your posts so it's a sincere question.
