Went cold as ice last round after a layoff. Going to try and get back on track this week.
 
Hawks +14.5 over Kings (6)
 
Hawks ML over Kings - (+855) (1)
 
Line is inflated here IMO given the series between these two teams have been played close this season. Round 13 the Kings were laying a whopping 18.5 points and only won by 7 at the SEC and then were laying 10.5 on the road in the Gong to win by the same number. This is one of those sandwich games the Kings could most likely do without given they have a big lookahead game on Saturday against the Cats in Perth, which also acts as a revenge game for the loss they suffered against the Cats at the SEC. Hawks have been playing inspired basketball ever since they lost Reyes and I like them to keep it close at best tonight, threw in the ML for value.
 
Tigers -8.5 over Bullets (3)
 
This spot is the perfect opportunity for the Tigers to kick the Bullets whilst they are down and is another revenge game from earlier in the season where they lost to the Bullets in Brisbane. Too many key outs for the Bullets, their two best defenders in MacKinnon and Boucher. As a result Anstey should abuse Bradshaw tonight in the paint and with CJ not 100% and Ere flying back from the States after becoming a new dad tonight should provide the Tigers the opportunity to nail down that second spot on the ladder.

Good thing I got stuck in traffic because I was leaning on the Cats ML in the afternoon game. Would have been beside myself knowing the lead they blew in that game.

anyone watched this game? anstey shoots fts with 15 secs left, and with 13 secs left lampley gets fouled? how'd that happen? also last play shows the hawks rebounded the ball with 11 secs left, how the hell were the tigers able to get 3 more points??

Bullets -3 over 36ers (5)

The Bullets showed on Wednesday night what they can do even being undermanned by thrashing the Tigers. Even without their 2 best defenders they just find ways of beating opposition based on simply outshooting them. With the Tigers win last night against the Hawks this is again a must win for the Bullets if they want any chance of that 2nd spot, and with Sam Mac out for the season the double chance will become vital if they want to go back to back this season.

Bottom line they have more depth than the Sixers and I'm not sure what the Sixers could have done between the last time the 2 teams met to tonight to overturn a 48 point loss.

Dragons ML over Breakers - (+155) (3)

More of a gut feel with this one but with a change in coach it is invariably the trend in porfessional sport the players play above themselves. Breakers being a road favourite in Australia doesn't sit well with me either and whilst they clearly have more motivation to perform tonight, the Dragons still have an outside chance to avoid the spoon.

Might add something for the 9pm AEST game bit later.

Well my wife is Australian and all her family & friends are here so it was a small sacrifice I had to make and relocate to Australia, not that I am complaining as I love the lifestyle here.

However when all my friends and family are in the States I try and spend about 3 months of the year over there and the rest here.

This game really is in the hands of the Kings IMO. They have sealed the top spot therefore from a ladder position point of view the Cats clearly have the motivational edge to get the win. However as seen when the Kings swept aside the Pigs in the second game of that series, they have the extra motivation of revenge from the loss that the Cats dealt them in Sydney earlier in the season.
 
It also helps that the NBL schedulers are doing the Cats absolutely no favours. Their past fortnight in terms of travel has been ridiculous and this is highlighted by the fact that the Kings were probably in Perth to prepare for this game a day before the Cats got back home after playing the Breakers on Thursday night.

WTF?? My wife is Australian too! Just messing with you mate. That is a big call to relocate across the globe, she must be a special girl  So you now working in Australia? Good to have you here mate, one of the genuine good guys.

 

ps Studying up for that citizenship test? I hear they are taking some of the sports questions out. You may be in trouble

Hope you enjoy your time in Aust then, would love to see you me in the 'pro hoops' section as I know plenty of people in their think you are Gold, and would assume that you still capping games in the NBA...

It has been good to see your thoughts and capping of lately in the baove section though (hope that doesn't contradict the above).

Not going to overanalyse the game on Sunday evening, I think the line says it all. Opened up at Blaze being 5.5 point favourites and even after a 36 point win at home by the Sixers last night the books haven't budged.

They like me must think the NBL schedulers are smoking crack, it's completely unreasonable to expect to the Sixers to have to play a night game on Saturday and then have to travel from Adelaide to Gold Coast to play on Sunday evening.
