Well someone has to be a curling fan out there. I am going to run this through the World's and see if we can't make at least 10 units by the end.
 
We will start with the Scotties 1-2 game, I am on Quebec for 1.5 units at even money. I think B.C. plays too conservative and I know they have the home town crowd behind them, but I don't trust a skip that is scared to draw. I'm on Quebec for tonight...besides she is much easier on the eyes.

Curling betting is definitely fantastic.  Love the game and CBC's coverage of it is wonderful. 

And yes, it makes it all the more fun to watch when a side's skip is a looker.  Hahaha....AHEM!

Well, not the start we were hoping for, in hindsight, I probably should have played the under, but nonetheless it is a new day.

 

Pinny has lines Rod and I am not sure if 365 has lines on the game but they have futures on who is going to win the event. I think the two best teams left in this are the one's playing this afternoon Sask and Canada. Jones has now squeaked out her last two games, eerily similar to last year, when she went on to win the final. Just like last year, yesterday she made a good shot against PEI and their skip had a tough shot to win, but one as a skip in this competition that you have to make and she didn't do it. Same as what happened last year when Jennifer made great shots, but both Ontario and Alberta had ones to beat her and didn't come through.

As I think this game is very evenly matched, and Lawton has looked very determined at the tourney this year and was named all star skip, my first play is to the over 13 at 2 units. Evenly matched teams, Canada likes an aggressive style, so I will take a shot at the over. I also think you can only win so many games, by the skin of your teeth before it catches up with you, so I will put one unit on Sask. I have also placed one unit on both at +450 to win outright, as I really do think whoever wins this game wins the tournament and the odds are right for it.

As a heads up H.O.H CBC is no longer televising the games on the weekend, it is TSN now. And as far as the looks side of things go, this will be the best game of the weekend.

Well picked up a unit and was two inches away from 3 units, as Jennifer's last rock just held on. But that is what she does, is consistently win the tight ones. Put me on 3 units on Canada tonight and 1 unit on the over.

Well, bit of a odd game last night, thought I had my Canada bet won after two ends, with a 5-0 lead, but Quebec was scrappy and did everything they could to get back in it. Nice night to pick up four units, and we are now 3.5 to the good side. I have one unit at +450 riding tonight, when I took Canada and Sask before the playoffs started at the plus money to win it all, so a nice pay day awaits if Canada can pull this out. I also like the under in this game at 13 +120, as BC plays a very conservative style, and we might get a couple of blank ends early to help our cause. I will put 1.5 units on this. Talk to you again at the beginning of the Brier.

Well thanks to Jones's team peeling well in the 10th, we got a push on the total, we picked up 2.5 unit on the future bet for Canada to win the event, as although I had her at 4.5 to 1, I also put a unit on Sask, at the same odds, so when all was said and done, we made 6 units on the Scotties.
 
The Brier is to start Saturday, with one of the best fields in along time. 5 former winners and also an Olympic Gold medal champion. Martin opened at something like +240 to win it all and already he is down to +126. He went 11-0 and won the Brier last year, so right off the hop despite their immense talent, I don't see them running the table this year and have no interest in laying a futures bet at those odds.
 
Value is in both Manitoba's Jeff Stoughton, who went undefeated in Manitoba's provincials and New Foundland's Gushue the former Olympic Gold Medalist. I am putting a unit on each at +645 and +649 respectively, for the Brier.
 
For opening day Saturday, this is going on a whim, but I am playing 7 of the 8 games under (with the exception of the Sask/Que game) and the majority of these are at -127 so I will have some calculating to do on all of them. In the 2008 Brier, 45 games were 13 points or less and only 21 were over 13. At a two to one clip, I have to take a gamble that their lines of 13.5 are a half point too high. Each bet is for two units, plus I am taking two sides that day 1.5 units on Quebec over Sask at -146 (ouch) and 2 units on BC over Northern Ontario at -130.
 
Lots of action to start it off, but I see too strong a trend to pass up. Time will tell.

9.5 units picked up this afternoon by hitting three totals and two sides. Adding one for tonight on top of the four unders and BC I am already on.  Mb -1.5 over NWT -118. Big play 4 units on it.

As good of day as I can ever remember having, as we went 6-1 on our totals for a profit of 9.5 units and then hit all three of our side bets, including the big Manitoba one tonight, for a profit of 7.5 units on sides, giving us a Saturday total of 17 units. We won 6 on the Scotties, so that puts us at +23  units profit.
 
For Sunday morning I am on 3 units on the under in the Nb/Sask game and 1 unit on the Alb/Que game.
 
Congrats Faith12 on your win, a three spot in the 10th to pull it out for you. Sweet.

Hit two more unders this morning to pick up four units, although we were very lucky to get the Sask under.
For the afternoon draw I am on BC +1.5 -107 and Ontario at -2.5 against NO -123. One unit on BC two on Ontario. Total units to the good so far 27 units.

Well BC blew a big lead to cost us a unit, but then picked up 2 on the Ontario blowout, bringing us to 27.93 units to the good.
 
Tonight, NB/Que over 13.5 +130 3 units
 
Nfl/NO under 13 -110 2 units
1 unit on NB over Que at +122.

Under on 12 of 14 games so far @ Brier . GL NB/Que ov 13 1/2 . 14 is so many points , it's tough . Coupla blanks or even bunch of 1's and Overs are tough . Your earlier comment about "at least" 1/2 a point too much coming to fruition . GL tonight though ---  
8-7 cliffhanger a real possibility .

Here is a stat for you, last year's early morning draw games were at an 80% clip of being 13 points or less. You think guys get up early in the morning, a little groggy to start with, don't want to give up the big end early and play conservative the first few ends. I have already played every game under tomorrow morning.AA

Will update record later, 2 units on all games under this morning at -130 and 13.5, with the exception of the Alberta game which is 13 and -120. Also playing two sides, Mb -150 vs Que and PEI +186 vs Sask, 2 units also.

Lost 4 units last night, made back 3.4 units this morning, to bring us to a total of 27.33 units. If only PEI had held on against in Sask, that would have been a nice pay out at 183 but they lost in an extra end.
 
Despite the insane rash of unders, I am playing one strong over tonight in the Nfl/Alberta game. Gushue and his squad have bounced back nicely after losing to Howard and I just have a feeling that he will hang tight with Martin and have a lot of rocks in play. When I feel teams are close to being evenly matched and they are both very talented, I will always lean to the over. As such a big play 5 units on the over in this game.
 
Other plays 2 units on the Ont/Sask under and 2 units on the Que/BC over all plays at 13. I am waiting to see if sone -1.5 lines come out, if so I will add a side or two.
 
I see they dropped all morning games to a line of 13, of which I will probably play at least three of them under.

I threw Ontario on a parlay assuming they would take it easily, down 6-4 on the last rock and he pulls out an amazing shot to lay 3 and win 7-6
 
its even crazier that he manages the beer store right near me in the summer

Will update later, rough night.
 
2 units on all morning games, except the Que/Nfl game which I am putting 1 on. All games under, at 13 -115. Also playing one long shot, NO to get their first win at +280.
 
For the afternoon draws 3 units on Alberta -2.5 -140, MB 1 unit -1.5 against NB and Sask/NWT 1 unit under 13 and Que/BC over 13.... 1 unit.. Good luck and Popo that shot was amazing last night. What a way to win a game.

We lost 7.7 units last night, but again the morning unders are like found money, as they go 4-0 and produce a profit of 7 units, along with our upset special coming in of NO defeating Sask to pick up +2.8 units, bringing our total to +29.43 units.
 
For the afternoon, Alberta already laced PEI, so we have won 3 units there and the Que/NS game is already in the bag, so we will pick up another W there.
 
For tonight, the odds are worth playing 1 unit on MB over Ontario at +180, 1 unit on NO at +130 vs NWT and 1 unit on NS at +1.5 vs NFL and 2 units on BC -150 vs PEI. Most sides I have played yet.
 
As for totals tonight, I am a glutton for punishment, but I am taking Ont/MB over 12.5 at even money for 2 units. Good luck.
 
Oh and the morning unders are now mostly at 12.5 tomorrow, but considering that three of the games have potential to be lop sided scores, which typically result in less ends played, I will be on the unders big time.
