Quite simply, this is what Geelong have been waiting for the last 2 months and it's also the one bet I am going heavy on. Don't get me wrong, I rate the Hawks but they have not been able to beat Geelong in their past 6 attempts. Although those results have been split by under a single goal, the current Geelong squad has had on if it's finest pre-seasons and their player management has been first class all season long. It was a very interesting tactic which Chris Scott went with last week against Collingwood as he pretty much took it as a finals game and the whole team played as though they would this week. Hawthorn went the other way and decided to rest most of their players in preparation for Friday night. I think the week off will mean Geelong bolt out of the blocks early and if you are betting Hawthorn, it's exactly the start you do not want to happen. The weather forecast seems to over the place as some say their will be rain and even hail yet most of the metro forecast of the MCG suggest it could clear by game time but start again in the 2nd half. I think Geelong win this game between 24-36 points. If the weather is atrocious then I still am confident they win it by 3 to 4 goals. Geelong are the real deal this year and it's unfortunate most of you covers members haven't rated them one little bit as evident in the early 2011 premiership odds thread.

yeh it's decent but I'm pretty confident in Geelong. I think Hawks just miss Roughead and a couple of others far too much and in these very crucial games it will tell. Liking the mix of speed now with Varcoe gaining peak fitness, Wojcinski, Christensen, Duncan and Menzel. Good luck with your bets this weekend and if you do place a bet, make sure your on the Cats too

why? Because Franklin and Rioli are two of the most overrated players in the game? Rioli averages 12 touches and 1 goal a game in the finals whilst Franklin averages 11 touches and kicks 3 goals against Geelong over his history against us. Unless both those guys can slot 10 goals between them then I think they will struggle to score enough goals against Geelong. Sometimes stats count for nothing in these types of situations but against quality opposition, it's very hard to ignore.

Great Hit Geelong! Nice pay day

I had cats u40. I hate betting u40 and watching the game. At least it got up. Who you like rest of weekend st kilda, pies , blues? You leaning towards any lines or margins?

very sad for Menzel because he's a definite x-facor we'd really need in the grand final but I reckon some that missed tonight's game like Milburn, Corey, Byrnes or Mooney will come in and replace him.

Definitely playing Carlton, they will win that game for sure but it's on Sunday and can't wait till then Collingwood will have no worries with West Coast and can see Collingwood winning that game by 6 or 7 goals. I really am liking the Swans because Mumford, Goodes, Reid are playing amazing football right now and the Saints rely heavily on Riewoldt, Goddard and Milne to produce the goods. Really worried about the odds though as the bookies must really be confident that St Kilda get over the line. I think another factor will be the unfortunate passing of McVeigh's daughter 'Luella' a couple of weeks ago which will really make the guys dig in deep and give Jarrad McVeigh something to be proud of. Swans looking good

yeh 3 goal win isn't much when you think about it but Carlton aren't exactly the most experienced team so when they do get out to a 4 or 5 goal lead and Essendon make a charge, I'm sure they'll leak goals in a hurry. I'm thinking 1-39 points as Bombers are quietly confident they win this but I just rate the Carlton midfield too strong against a slower midfield of Hocking, Watson, Stanton and Howlett. Those 4 guys aren't the quickest players and against Judd, Murphy, Simpson and Robinson, I think they will break away too many times and get the inside 50's mounting and allowing the small forwards to take pot shots for most of the night. If Ryder has a big game then it really put's the pressure back onto Carlton as Warnock isn't as agile. Am confident though that Ryder has an average game so Blues win it

Unless both those guys can slot 10 goals between them then I think they will struggle to score enough goals against Geelong. Sometimes stats count for nothing in these types of situations but against quality opposition, it's very hard to ignore.

Yes it was me being sarcastic, relax yourself.  hard to take you seriously placing a huge wager on this on what is clearly your team is all.
