just disgusting the way one can always count on a sub-40 point quarter in the great majority of these NBL games.
I swear, make me an owner of one of these franchises and I'd guarantee 210+ point games.
I'd find Joey Wright, and let him install his brand of ball and we'd pull in the crowds. We may not win every game, but we'd be entertaining, we'd inbound the ball quickly, even off made baskets, we'd run our asses off, we'd spread the floor, kick it, shoot it, and ENTERTAIN.

hey, 23-14 quarters are fucking boring for all concerned unless it's a grand final where that kind of production is understandable.
Sure, defense is for the basketball purists, but if these mugs want Australia to fall in love with this game again, lets give the people entertainment with a capital EEEEE
I mean Battler, you sit here watching this game, can you not see opportunities for these chumps to inbound this thing quickly and run it down the throat of the opposition ?

maybe it's a pipe dream given that we don't have the athletes here that can do the things those guys can do in the US, but I definitely think with these bums playing an extremely cushy schedule (what, 1.5 games / week or something?) we should be getting a heck of a lot more energy and intensity than we're getting.
the fact that Ray Charles could make a motza on betting this league by just putting his blind / dead ass in a position to hit "under" on every game is crap. And these bookies have been a lot sharper on totals this season, because a couple of years ago a game like tonight's would've been slapped with a 205 total for sure. Nothing, I mean nothing was set under 194.
But to return to the point I was making, we have teams in the ABA who play this up tempo style (the south west metro pirates here in brisbane) and it's a tonne of fun to watch.
If we could slash the laziness out of these NBL players, we could have an exciting product to watch in a couple of seasons from now.
