Its been said this week that Melbourne won't play as bad as last week, thats true (they couldn't play any worse). I think they are a good step behind the second worse team in the comp and that they'll be in for a long, disappointing year. It'll be one of the safest bets this year to bet against them, especially while the line hasn't caught up.
The dogs are quite a decent side when fully fit, it was only when injuries took there toll last year that they were unable to reach their potential. Their only weakness is a lack of height which shouldn't be a concern in the wet conditions today.
The conditions should make it a closer contest on the scoreboard and more of a chance for Melbourne to cover but I'm still siding with the doggies -17.5

The doggies started the game playing a bit too safe and not aggresive enough. The D's started well but the further the quarter went the better it looked for the doggies.
QT:
2.5. 17 Doggies
2.4. 16 Demons

I would lean the crows, they should win at home but I'm staying away. I think the only true advantage the eagles have is their ruck (Cox) who should dominate but I like the crows over most of the other positions.

Adelaide are a much better team playing attacking football. If they had played that way over the last 4 years, they would have had another flag to their cabinet. IMO, the race for the flag is between Adelaide, Hawthorn and Geelong.

St.Kilda started to play defensive footy against Sydney last week. They are touch and go. They have an awesome offence, but they don't use it. If they use their attack, they are up there too. But I'm not sold on them just yet. They need to play attacking football before I get on them.

Haven't checked that much yet, but Geelong -20.5 might be a play. Have to look into it more. St Kilda -26.5 looks tempting as well, but will their offense click enough to out-do that spread?
