Pens had many chances to score on the wings awesome D, they cashed in on only 1 tonight.  but those stats will not repeat for the dynamic duo...sorry. take off the red glasses...they got lucky tonight. 3 goals.....2 just horrible bad bounces. 1  real score. pens let one slip away, let's see what happens tomorrow....

reality is pens outplayed the wings and lost
 
the deeper you go on these playoffs you need to take advantage of your opportunities because it will hurt you against good teams
 
just like carolina had their chance in game 1 against the pens...the hawks had their chance in game 2 vs the wings...you cant mess up these opportunities and that is what the pens did tonight
 
it will be interesting to see how the pens respond...i expect a stronger effort by the wings for sure..

Flyers "outplayed" the Pens most of their series, too.  What good that do them ?  You have to "outplay" the other team where it counts - - on the scoreboard.  The better team prevails, and here it is Detroit.

I actually thought the Wings were slightly better.  Better in the first.  Pitts was better in the 2nd.  Detroit went up by 2 and shut it down like only they can do.

Like Don Cherry said tonight, this was a game that Pitts had to have.  The longer the series goes the better the Wings will get.

That's what I thought too and why I backed Carolina to beat the Pens.  I was shocked how the Flyers blew that series and how Pitt got out of it.

It really proved that if you don't get the results where they matter, then well, they really don't matter.  Cliched, but as simple as that.

This is series is not over as Pittsburgh will play hard to the very end.  However, you can see (I think we and some other people on these boards backing Detroit in the finals saw it long before) how much better Detroit is - - they have more skill, top to bottom - - you can see it in their skating, their puck handling, and their decisions.  Guys like Scuderi, Gill, Talbot, Eaton - - they would never sniff the roster on Detroit.  

Waiting for Pens66 to shoot his mouth off some more.
