i think the hit was a cheap shot, but the entire Sabres team should be fined for being the biggest group of pussies ever to step foot in a hockey rink.. if i was Miller i would be furious at all of them..

This is Shanahan&#x27;s time, it is well known because of the Campbells that there was a bias against the Bruins getting suspended. We will see now what Shan does and the lead he takes. The best thing would be 1-2 games. Lucic smirking at the interview after the game does it for me.

Let me start by saying I am not a Bruins fan and do not care for Lucic but I do not believe he should be suspended or fined for the hit. It was a race for the puck that he lost. The way Miller swiped the puck into the boards his body was forced into Lucic's path to avoid Miller. I do not feel that there was enough space or time for Lucic to avoid the hit.

You see races like this to the puck quite often and in most instances the goalie goes to the ground to 1) cover the puck or make a play on it, and 2) to avoid this type of hit.

With all the equipment goalies wear and the bulkiness of the equipment it makes it difficult to play the puck and get out of the way in a situation like this.

I do not blame Miller by any means for getting in the way, but I do not blame Lucic either as it was a race to the puck and IMO he couldn't avoid the contact.

In the clip I saw he looked remorseful after the hit as he turned toward Miller and put his hand at his chest and appeared to apologize. &#xD;&#xA;If what you say is true and he was laughing about it afterwards and wasn&#x27;t remorseful I say a 1-2 game suspension may be warranted.

What stands out for me (beyond the hit itself) is the slash by Miller.  If that had connected they would both be up on disciplinary charges I suppose.  Either way, Miller should be fined for the slash.  I&#x27;m completely unbiased but others will jump to his defense I&#x27;m sure.  Have another look.

If he&#x27;s suspended for the hit it&#x27;s laughable.. People run goalies all the time if we suspend players for running goalies wow.. The sport would be turning into a pussie sport like soccer.. Most I can fathom is a small fine for being &#x27;unsportsmanlike&#x27;..

Hard to believe a Ruff coached team, or any team for that matter, didn't stand up for their star netminder. Disgusting gutless bunch of pussys. Sad. According to rule 69.4, yes there should be some sort of infraction.
But my personal opinion is when a goalie leaves the blue paint he is fair game.
Some of us older fans will remember guys like Cheevers stickhandling out past his own blueline. There's a reason why nobody tried to cream him when he was doing shit like that - his teamates had his back! Shame on the Sabres.

Based on this rule, I think there should be no suspension or fine.

NHL rule (43.1). A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease area. The appropriate penalty should be assessed in every case where an opposing player makes unnecessary contact with a goalkeeper. However, incidental contact, at the discretion of the Referee, will be permitted when the goalkeeper is in the act of playing the puck outside his goal? crease provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact.

It looked worse than it was but to me it was really incidental contact. With Lucic skating at that speed and Miller way out of his net it was difficult for him to avoid the collision entirely which made it look like he was just trying to hit Miller.

I can&#x27;t believe I&#x27;m defending Lucic, and it&#x27;s obvious he wanted to hit Miller and he followed through, but I don&#x27;t think that deserves a fine or suspension. Miller was going after the hit just as much as Lucic.@ USCdiehard71 - I don&#x27;t think Lucic put his hand to his chest because he was remorseful, I just think that&#x27;s where Miller&#x27;s elbow connected and he was briefly hurt or wanted to pretend he was hurt but quickly saw Sabres coming towards him so he had to get his hands up.With regards to the comments of the Sabres not punching out Lucic, they did more than the Bruins did when...&lt;-------This happened.

I don&#x27;t buy it.  I think the "Concussion Cop-out Card" is being played.  He needs time off to get his sh*t together anyways.  Miller is a frustrated crybaby and Buffalo has some reputation building to do.Lucic said it right when he stated that Boston is a "different" team than Buffalo.  He had every right to smirk.  So Buffalo?????  Whatcha gonna do about it???  My guess is Buffalo will posture with the smack talk but actually do nothing when the time comes.  Boston is a big strong throwback squad and won&#x27;t be intimidated by anyone.  That is one reason that they are champions.Miller makes me wanna puke.

First of all running a goalie like that is a ridiculous cheap shot.... Lucic himself even knows what a gutless cheap shot that was..... The sabres have no one else to blame but themselves, they let Peters, there only goon left in the lineup go and never replaced him, when teams know they can pull shit like that and really no one on the other side can respond, shit like that will happen. I have a feeling if there was someone on the Buffalo bench that could challenge Lucic, he would have backed off. The Sabres need an enforcer bad.
