Ok obviously Miller has been the best goaltender in the Olympics, no questions asked. And obviously goaltending is KEY in a one game winner take all format. But with that being said, we all know how bad Brodeur was, and how great Miller was in the first matchup.
My question to you guys is the following....
IF the goaltending matchup was even in that game, what would the score of been?
My guess would be 5-2 Canada.
The point I am trying to make is simple. USA backers better PRAY that they get an obscene goaltending edge once again. If the goaltending on Sunday is anywhere CLOSE to even, Canada is going to win this game. No I am not saying Canada is going to win this game easily or any of that krap, but USA backers better hope to get a similar goaltending edge in this game...
Otherwise, Canada will win easily.

Rangerz you are clearly the smartest American. Why can't they all be like you?
Let's face, it is entirely possible. Ryan Miller has not just had a "hot" run..he has done this the entire year in the NHL.
Canada might be the only country left without a superb effort from its goalie. It should be a concern. Luongo has not been anything special either.
I think the US played a much better game against the Swiss than they did against Finland. Kipper was atrocious...aside from handing the puck to Malone, his rebound control was brutal. It was an impressive game on the scoreboard but they realistically just played 13 minutes. If anyone feels good about holding Finland to 1 goal they should not. They scored 2 goals the last 3 games against NHL goalies. One was on the PP when Kubina had to leave his man to get his hemlet and the other was against Tim Thomas when the game did not matter.
Look at the Canadian game tonight..what was the difference in both games? Canada had 11 scoring chances to Slovakia's 0 in the first period. Halak was solid. No freebies. Kipper was not..couple of freebies. I don't know the exact numbers but the US got outshot something to 14-1 at some point in the 3rd. Canada had a let down and gave up 2 goals.
All we have to go by is the first US-Canada game and I will just say I am glad I have my future on Canada. The price just seems too steep to pay with how they have played.

rangerz2478 great statement! I agree with what you said, but i still will say this the USA has shown me alot this Olympics. They have played well and deserve to be in the Gold Medal game. Miller is going to have to stand on his head i think.

Don't let all this american patriotic bullshit get in the way of your picks
Are you serious with that? Every Canadian is ready to charge across the boarder but our backing the Team that has "played the best thru the tourney" (quoted from Canucks on this site) is Patriotic bullsh*T?
PLEASE
