    Ytd 35-22  +2,920.00

I just played my last total of the season but I should probably thank Hejduk, Statsny and Giguerre for coming through on Thursday night.

    Anaheim +110  500/550

    St Louis -120  600/500

I understand Detroit has been a public team for some time and still might be but anyone in the hockey world knows Anaheim is a gift at this price. If the line moves significantly later in the day in favor of Anaheim backers then I'll put a few more bucks on them. Detroit is not winning tonight.

After the first 7 minutes of the Detroit game, Allen settled down and played well against a solid offensive club. So, I hope he starts again tonight but my play is primarily based on the Blues top 2 lines against a shitty Calgary defense. If I was to play the total, I'd be concerned on whether Calgary will score, to be honest. I know St Louis will score.

I remember someone saying you fade the rookie goaltender or starting pitcher the second game, the 1st game is all adrenaline, the Flames should be good for a few goals on home ice.

Maybe but I'm not betting on it. However, I have no doubt that the Blues goltending is the reason the opening line is so low. Personally, I don't care if the score is 3-1 or 6-5....I'm taking the better all around club. I looked at this game for an hour and I don't see any reason to take Calgary.

I tried fading goalies first start back from injury  and played a few overs figuring there would be rust.  It turned out nearly all won the first game back and majority also went under as teams played a defensive  strategy protecting the returning goalie..  Second starts  back-which of course i didnt play - were the winners.    Just food for thought for when tor and calgary dudes come back.

Amd over was my biggest play too.  Nice year so far- ill keep tailing you

agreed, cgy blew there load on dallas and now facing a fresh and the most physical team in the nhl

Good point...St Louis is very physical and that could make a difference in the neutral zone tonight. Calgary turns over the puck more than any team Ive seen this season.

To clarify I meant their 2nd career nhl start, but obviously there's always exceptions to the rule, as well this may be Fasth's 1st nhl season but he's 30 years old and is a veteran of the Swedish league and international play.

I agree with the Ducks ML!
    BOL

Trying to convince myself to place money on the Blues ML.
Elliot has played 7 straight games (last 5 of them resulting in significant losses barely reaching .89 SV%).  Halak's injuries really has placed a lot of pressure on Elliot.  Allen's win the other day is a great way to start off the road trip.

Almost convinced myself to place a bet in this write-up.  Haha.
Chances are I'll follow suit with ya amd!

    Hey amd,

Reading a few of your analysis you made in response on some users' inquiry and noticing the accurate analysis and in-depth info you provided, someone would think you're hockey nut who watches almost every game and listens to hockey talk-radios 24/7. But, from a few mentions you've made about your personal life, you seem to be a physician or generally work in health-care, therefore you're probably a busy man and hardly have much time on your hands for watching sports too much.

So my question is, how you get informed about hockey in general? You can't be reading just recaps, since you seem to know a lot about what coaches should do and affinities between players.

The reason I'm asking is because hockey, the NHL in particular, seem to be one of the most inconsistent sports where a perception of a team you may have at some point, can change drastically after the next match-up, making the power-rankings obsolete. There do not appear to be "scrub" teams like in the NBA i think. I really would like to know more about what factors (other than the goalie) and what "forces" operates in hockey that can determine an outcome of a game.

    Cheers and gl.
