If ESPN gets the TV contract for hockey they will be talking about it all the dam time i bet

well no sorry you are wrong cause i listen to 98.5 all day everyday at my job and they never started talking hockey until the playoff started, so sorry you are absolutely wrong, zo and gressh never talked about it till playoffs and same with felger and mazz, DA is prob the only one who talked hockey prior to the playoffs so you apparently have not started listening until the playoffs started

ESPN f*cking blows why do u want them to have hockey ?
I like watching my sports without fucking scores and news and "sportscenter is next" scrolling along the bottom of my screen for 3 fucking hours?

I don't mind everyone else hating on hockey - we're a nice little club of die-hards and although they help the sport, I don't need any more bandwagon fans Got enough of them around here once the Pens got Crosby.  Where were they when we had Shane Endicott, Rico Fata, and Ramsey Abid?  Watching the Steelers.

You're that distracted by a ticker at the bottom of the screen

I would absolutely LOVE to have hockey back on ESPN (if that is even a possibility)... I don't get versus and its always good to have that 'game of the week' that everyone is watching.

I like NBC's game of the week on Sunday's I just wish they had it every Sunday. And then maybe like a middle of the week night game. But I still think NBC's Sunday game is great. Some of the camera angles they have are amazing. They had this one shot where it was ice lever wider version behind the blue line. With them controlling the puck in the zone, you could see the whole play breaking out perfectly. It was amazing, and they need to being using that view so much more when the opportunity presents itself. Best view I have ever seen a hockey game on t.v. before.

what i'll never understand is why hockey is not more popular in the u.s. people in this country like speed, action & physical contact. hockey has all of those attributes in spades. you would think the fact that you can fight without getting kicked out of the game or suspended would be enough to attract the large amounts of neanderthal fans from various other sports but it hasn't happened.

one thing that really bothers me is that most of these sports talk show guys still use the same old stereotypes on the rare occasion they do talk hockey. i constantly hear about "goons", "a hockey game breaking out at the fights" & hockey being compared to pro wrestling. maybe back in the 70's & early 80's they might have had a point. MAYBE! point is that the vast majority of them know next to nothing about the sport & continue to spew the same regurgatated nonesense that hack writers & local news sportscasters were throwing out there 25 years ago.

the only thing that makes me more pissed off is when i hear some ncaa mouthpiece talk about how a football playoff would be harmful to the student atheletes even though every division of football has playoffs except division 1 but that's another story.

First off: DG84, the reason why hockey ain't more popular in the states is because of ESPN!  Not because of the network deal, but because ESPN has become such a dumbed down network, that hockey's excellence doesn't apply to their one-size-fits-all reporting.  I haven't watched ESPN since BEFORE the lockout and I know I'm not missing much.

That said, I'm UNLOADING my bankroll on Montreal tomorrow.  This is huge coming from a diehard Pens fan.  I definitely felt that the Pens would've taken that last Game 7 if Johnston didn't let the 5th goal in. 

But this is covers.  I'm risking my bankroll on the Lesbo Habitants.  Fuck it all!
