I'm staying up all night and sitting back to enjoy the Flyers and Kings Q-Finals Clinching Games which I Tivo'ed earlier...
...and I'm glad I Tivo'ed them since there are no replays scheduled for them that I see on my TV schedule.
Like I said in the other thread... I could not watch this Flyers game LIVE... I get way too stressed out because I see every little detail and chance long before they happen. Having played, watched and followed hockey for many years now I can sence and predict game action before it happens... I'm always telling my wife what to watch for and it usually happens just like I had said it would. I'm not bragging... but I've been around the block a whole lotta times now so none of the action is news to me.
Anyway... I didn't watch because of the stress added by what I see when you compare that to what the play-by-play guys see. I say things BEFORE they happen... they say it only after it has happened. So during the game I sat with my head down and eyes closed and just listened to the game... my wife understands and knows why I had to do this. If I didn't care so much about the Flyers it would not be a problem. No other team causes me so much stress while watching them. And it's only Flyers playoff games that are unwatchable at times for me. I can usually handle games 1 thru 4... but when things are close the tension is very stressful. I'll probably die watching a Flyers game one day... ha,ha,ha. No shit.
I took a stress pill, a muscle relaxer (for back spasms) and a pain pill... just to listen to this game. I did not look up when LIVE until there were only 20 seconds remaining in the 3rd period. Not until then did I feel it was safe to do so.
The Meds worked so well that by the time the Kings game was starting I fell alseep... and only woke up minutes after they had won. My Tivo was still recording that game but some show was on meaning the Kings game had ended... I had no idea what had happened so I hit reverse and saw that the Kings had won in OT... YIPPIE for Me...!!!!!!!
So now I'm sitting back to ENJOY these sweet wins...
... in a stress free situation. I'm sure I'll spot the many things not mentioned by the guys on TV but it won't change the outcomes... Thankfully.
Let's Go Flyers...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()

Wow... The Flyers 3rd goal of the game, by Gustafsson, so much reminded me of those wicked wrist shot by forever Flyers great Rick MacLeish #19 of the Broad Street Bullies Cup winning teams.
Gustafsson caught all the Pens defenders and even thier Goalie Fleury expecting a dump pass along the boards to Claude Giroux who was coming down the left wing as Gustafsson crossed the blue line.
The one Pens defender gave him space because he was leaning towards covering Giroux after what he thought would be a dump pass down the boards... and the Pens defender #44 just kept going backwards deep into the slot covering NOBODY... and he never made an attempt to block the shot.
Even Fleury was not ready for that shot... It's as if his mind was still focused on Giroux coming down the left wing on Fleury's stick side. That was an awesome use of a wristshot by MacLeish... err... Gustafsson. Great Shot kid...![]()
