I would say that Steelers, Colts, Dallas, Chargers and over on the Colts game is the best game so far in week 2.

What every one think about Atlanta on the moneyline...+340? Im thinkin about it...might take the spread though

Don't let week 1 fool you. Atlanta looks better than last year, but that's against a really bad road team. Tampa have a good D and will put pressure on Ryan. Lions have no pass rush and no D what so ever. This will be Ryan first test, I think Bucs will force Ryan into a few mistakes and turn them into score.

sorry to digress in your thread...but they looked awful sunday night. jeff saturday is so big for that team. indy -2 in a "must win" or "no way they can lose 2 in a row" seems to good to be true.

Nah, KOAJ its cool for you to speak your thoughts...I've always had respect for your opinion.  I just dont think Minny's defense is as good as i thought they were.  If they couldnt beat up on Aaron Rogers then i dont think they will touch Manning.  I know Saturday is huge, but i just think that they will be able to get their timing down etc. with another week of practice.  The first team offense didnt really play much together in the preseason, so i consider that first game their preseason.  There is too much at stake for Indy here, they know exactly how good they are as a team, and they seen what happened to Tom Brady, that was practically a gift for them.  This is the team i see in the superbowl representing the AFC at this point so i have no problem betting them as a short favorite against an over-hyped Minnesota squad.  Tavaris Jackson is terrible he had like 16 yards in the first half.  He only aired the ball out after it was 17-6 midway through the third.  Him and his receivers are not much of a threat in my opinion.

It could be a good game tho

hey slingzz - i did very well last week; 4-1 losing only the skins

first glance at these lines for week 2 and i like:

buffalo (although hesitant on the road)
minny - no saturday for the colts and gimpy peyton. a must win game for both
tennessee - echoing above sentiments...cincy may be the worst team in football. tenn and can and stop the run and they will beat the bengals up and down the field. im very high on tenn this year.

there are no games currently which fit my usual MO of unpopular home teams...maybe minnesota. there's also a lot of ridiculous lines out there

Buffalo is a bit iffy on the road though.

I cant blame you for wanting to take all those points, i'm still looking into some of these matchups.  I do think that Pittsburgh will steamroll Cleveland.  They have a very balanced offense and should put up plenty of points on a bad looking Browns defense.  Do you think Clevelands offense is going to hang around with the steelers defense?

At on point in the Dallas game Andersom went almost 30 mins without a completion.  Thats almost 2 quarters of play.  I realize this is the first week of the season and they may have been rusty or had to many injured players, but the same for every other team!

The steeler D is much like the cowboys and maybe they even bring more pressure than Dallas does.  I see them being able to easily cover the 6 point line.

CO-sign everything here....Atlanta wont get the ML here, Bucs defense is too good.  I just want to see what there QB situation is, but i do think ATL can hang within 8.  I would rather go with SF on a major ML dog

Dizzle...good to see you....Well i havent played Cleveland, but yeah i did re-think it.  I cant lie, Dallas abused them and they did not look good.  While on the flip side, Pittsburgh looked like one of the top 3 teams in their victory.  Pittsburgh is probably very hungry this year as i know they were disappointed with that home playoff loss last year and with the AFC as thin as it is right now, they have a chance to be the best team there.  Cleveland has alot of injury woes and im not quite sure if they are as good as their record last year.  I dont think they are better than Pitt, and for the past two years they've been blown out once and kept the second game close. 

I dont love the game and i think Pittsburgh wins, but if it went over 7, i think i would almost have to play the Browns.  The intangible of getting their first prime time game in forever has to be worth something.

i dont think indy has an answers for the vikes running game. tavaris wont be as bad at home as he is on the road...he's bad everywhere though.

if you can get the better running team and better defensive team at home +2 or 3 dont you have to look real hard at it?

i think Minn's over-hype lasts one game. everyone got off their bandwagon after the loss at GB and will be riding the "no way peyton goes 0-2" train this week

if you see how "vegas" linesmakers lead the sheep from week to week, i figure you'll learn to bet with the house more often than not. Minn is definately a house bet this week...as are the skins and browns

that last line is sort of an idea generator for me...i do the handicapping after i watch the lines move and find the biggest perception vs reality line disparities

anyone in on the raiders? yes they look horrible against the broncos but Croyle is hurting and KC is just plain terrible as herm edwards is one of the worst coaches ever in the NFL.

3 for 5 last week, not a bit happy with that -----it s early and it usually takes a few weels to get a good feel for the game at the start of the season.
new england and the jets------ new england might have lost brady but they are still better than miami and they could have beat the jets-----new england
chargers and denver------- come on, chargers are not olkand, and denver will not do to them what they did to olkand.-------chargers
steelers and browms-------  browns did good last year against bad teams, steelers are not a bad team--------steelers
tenn and cinny-------- even though it s early i think this will be a big game for cinny, they don t want to down 0--2, also i think tenn won t be up as much for this game as they were fot the jags.-----cinny
the bears and panthers------ steve smith will be back, and they got a better quaterback than the bears and there defense is just as good if not better than the bears and they are at home, what else can i say--------panthers.
bills and jags----- i lost on the bills last week, so one week well not change my mind and the jags will not want to go 0---2-------jags

Sling, if you have the NFL package, try to catch the Short Cut replay of the Carolina game.  I think you would rethink the above statement if you saw it.  I know I did. 
 
Only bad thing I can say about that performance is that John Fox turned into a real douche once he had a lead.

I think you took it out of context...Carolina looked good in the game, i meant like...they didnt look as good as Chicago looked in their game.  If you were to rate either team shearly on performance, you would have to say Chicago looked better...

Not too sure about New England anymore and Houston needs more research.  I think i will stay away from or tease the Philly game.
 
Still waiting on St.Louis and Cinci, i think i can get better lines in those games, although im extremely iffy on playing The Bengals.  Im disappointed the Cleveland line hasnt gone up yet.

How do you go against The Packers this week....
Green Bay looks real good...
Oakland looked terrible, I may have to bet KC on the strength of how bad The Raiders looked...
Love seeing San Diego at such a short favorite but they have a history of starting out slow, and they are without their best defensive star and their center...
 
Will be playing Carolina most likely tomorrow as my book offers cheap juice on Fridays

when you consider the Giants are 15-4 ATS on the road since 06', it doesn't sound like a bad take...

I just don't see how Bulger could do better than his 14 of 26 for a buck fifty eight performance against the Eagles now that he's facing another defensive front that's equal or better than what he faced last week... plus Spags will blitz him all day...

one of the things I really like is that the Giants will have 10 days to prepare for this Rams team (they played on Thursday) and they have Cincy at home followed by a bye week after this game... so nothing to look forward to... except to kick some Rams ass..
 
I think logic says to take the points... specially if it has hit double digits... but I think this ends up a blowout... I just don't see how St. Louis plans on hanging around... they are pretty horrible right now...

who's gonna stop Justin Tuck and Kiwi from busting through the line every play?... Alex Barron and Orlando Pace (whose in his 12th season and seems to be on the injured reserve every year)?... I think the front line of the Giants should have a field day...

I really like the fact that nobody (except Eli) scored a td in last weeks game for the G-Men... it should make the entire offense wanting to score here... a chance to shine if you would... I know Plax has to be starving for that endzone...
 
Last time these two met in 05', the giants won by 20 in a game where Manning had 4 tds and Plax had over 200 yards receiving. Bulger still had a 400+ yard game, but they were not able to punch it into the endzone as easily as they were able to move the ball.  That could be similar to what happens again...once they land in the redzone with less vertical space to work with, they will probably end up with field goals more than not.

You can say the last St. Louis game was more of a St. Louis being a bad road team thing, but the thing is, the Giants have not been too great at home.. And just like St. Louis and Bulger are better at home, the Giants have been beasts on the road... The Giants (Road Warriors) were 7-1 on the road last year (10-1 including playoffs) and they were 5-3 the year before that and 4-4 in Mannings' first season as a starter.
