Tomlin MUST go!!!!

Dude, you can't stop backing your team just because they are having a bad year. Being a Ravens fan myself, I, just like you, was hoping that this year would be just the same. Win win win win, make playoffs, and beat the damn Steelers this year, lol.
However, as we can both see, this is not the case, except we actually beat you once, but you can't stop backing your team because they don't win every year.
Any real fan is gonna back their team, win or lose.

Believe me, I'm just as pissed at my teams poor performance this year, as you are at yours, regardless of what teams we have won or lost against, I will still back them, because we will play and win another superbowl.

Will it be this year, next year, 5-10 years from now? I don't know, but I do know I will sure as hell be backing them whether or not they do.

the entire problem with the Steelers is that they throw the ball way to damn much...big ben is great dont get me wrong but C'mon Man....3rd and 1, Shotgun 5 wide....wtf....in gusty cold conditions...They are not smash mouth no more..No identity on offense.....without Troy in the lineup defensively they are a .500 ballclub

Wow I upset some people with my post. Tomlin does suck as a coach. With our talented team I expected A LOT more out of this team and I am very very disappointed. I have been a Steeler fan since I was 5 years old so don't tell me I haven't seen up and down times. I am entitled to my opinions. I know a lot of your teams already suck amd you have no expectations. My bad to all you losers!

Looking at your avatar you must be 14 now, but Tomlin does not suck, you never had an offense that was explosive. You have lived off that killer defense and now it's not looking so good. You need to get a true ground game, and pound the ball like you used to.

Try ten years. Try losing 12 in a row to your rivals. Try going through multiple QBs and head coaching changes.Try watching your team struggle week in and week out while attempting to recapture the legacy that they had in the past.

The team just stinks right now, that's it. They need a new special teams coach. Ben will be fine, Tomlin is a good coach.

ok to the steelers fans that think that tomlin sucks - who would you pick that's available to be the team's head coach? there aren't that many out there I can guarantee that. guy coaches team  to the sb in his second season and all of a sudden you want him out. un fuckin believable!!!!

He won a SB with Cowhers team. He states that he is going to make changes to his team in his press interview and doesn't do a thing. Let the young guys compete now and see what they have. Ron Cook from the Post Gazette called them losers and spoke out against Tomlin but you know it alls know more. He has covered the Steelers for years and knows a thing or two about them. If you are not upset and discouraged by this year for the Steelers then you are not a fan!! They are a much better team then one that loses to a 1 win 2 win and 3 win teams. Give me a break.

Yeah - his job is in jeopardy. LOL - That's about the dumbest thing I've read all day. Cause the Rooney's have a history of firing coaches. They've had 3 since 1969 and they aren't about to fire a coach a year removed from the Superbowl when they've been playing the majority of the season without their best defender.  Sounds like you should find a soccer board to comment on cause you clearly know nothing about Football.

These get to funny.  Cowher, now that he is away from coaching suddenly became smarter?  He underachieved in the playoffs for years.  He was a good coach, who seems to become greater with each passing season away from coaching. Those team's were not "Cowher's team's".  The front office primarily structured the team as they primarily do now.  In Tomlin's short time so far IMO he has done a much better job with maximizing the talent of the team.   In this salary cap era, when your defense loses its two best players (to injury) and the front office let's your best cover corner leave in the office season for no good reason, please do not try and convince yourself that this team under Cowher would be better.   Instead face the fact that last season it would have been highly doubtful that they won the SuperBowl if Cowher still was head coach.  The only major difference between this year and last are the key injuries.  Last season they won almost every close game, this season they are not.  The talent level is not much different.  If Troy & Aaron play the whole season so far they are at least 9-4 now.   

Unfortunately having the largest fan base at times can include having the stupidest fans as well. 

 

It's not Tomlins fault. I'm sorry u backed the steelers on the road in cold weather after they already lost 4 straight. The steelers have been hit by the injury bug this year last year they were healthy and had the number 1 ranked defense. Most coaches never even win a superbowl never mind in their second year and yes he did walk into a great situation but he still got it done. The last time they won under bill cowher they had a loosing season the following year. Bottom line injuries affect even the best teams look at the patriots i hope miami wins the division Go Dolphins. 

Cowher did not suck as a coach. He did the best that you could expect given the circumstances.Year in and year out he was losing players to free agency and coordinators to other teams.The steelers had a blueprint for success and that is why the coordinators were highly coveted around the league. Whether it was Cowher hugging and crying with players or yelling and spitting at players he was the emotional leader and the team rose behind his emotions.I don't know what it is about the vikings that the Rooney's are intrigued by, but I think this is the second time a vikings coach has derailed the steelers. First it was Sherman who wanted to turn Kordell into a pocket passer and now Tomlin who wants to take the "MONSTER TRUCK " to NASCAR and expect to compete. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I do give Tomlin credit for keeping Lebeau as DC. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact the Ben is our QB, but I think he may be part to blame with Wisenhunt and Grimm were not hired by the steelers. He was not happy  with the offense and wanted to air it out more. If you look at the cardinals, you could almost close your eyes and picture them in black and gold. Tomlin took the steelers to the SB right after Cowher left but Wisenhunt and Grimm changed the philosophy and identity of the Cardinals in one year and taught the how to finish. As far as special teams, they havent't really been special since Bobby April left.

Steelers will be fine when they get rid of Bruce Arians, he wants to pass, pass pass, always wants to go away from running the ball, the steelers need to get back to running the ball 35-40 times a game and passing around 20-25...When they do that they will Win...22 runs in last nights game with those conditions wont get it done....Cleve ran 37 times.. Injuries havent helped much either this year

I don't care what you do for a living, all i am saying is that you don't have a coaching problem. Also, I hate to say that one man makes a team, but damn since you loss Palu you just look different, no one in on every play. You lost last night so be it, I took you Steelers also, but I wouldn't bash my coach if i won the Super Bowl last season dumbass.

IMO this has mainly to do with the offensive line.  This was a big question mark coming into this season and unsuprisingly, still is an issue.  Also, I don't think it's a coincidence that the problems of Pitt being able to get short yardage started as soon as the Bus retired.  I know Mendenhall is a big back, but he's not the 250+ lb back that Jerome was.

Lifelong steeler fan here. Nobody any sicker than me about how this season unfolded. Midway 6-2 and playing good, not the same D without Troy P. Crazy how one guy can make that big a diff but he does. O line has been bad for last couple yrs, coupled with Ben holding on to the ball way too long (ALOT) is a recipe for failure. Lay off coach T. he might not be a master x and o guy but I think the guy knows football and fits into the system. The Rooneys don't boot a guy after one bad season and I love that about them. I hate not going to the playoffs as much as anyone, but take the bad with the good damit ya can't win the superbowl every year.

poor steeler fan's1 losing streak and and you want to slash your wrists suck it up !! your coach your team is ok don't freak!! they will be fine next year they will correct what's wrong. try being a real fan and take the good with the bad. try goimg through what the chiefs are doing. be loyal not a band wagon jumper!!

ben is trash and always has been...uhhh...OK...he has over a .700 win percentage lifetime...and 2 superbowls in his VERY young career...how can that be trash... you're a browns, bengals or ravens fan right??

btw, the steelers had the toughest schedule last yr and won it all w/ NUMEROUS come from behind wins...ahhh...inluding the SB...but you prob. think that was an imcomplete pass too right?...lame comment bro

The Steelers are just getting their dose of karma. After "winning" a couple of 'big' games that were apparently fixed, they are just getting what they deserve. Looks like the refs are officially 'off' the Steeler band wagon as well. They must find more 'value' in playing the underdogs!

i think most DISGREE that they had one of the softest roads to the SB...go back and check the schedule partner...should have lost the game...huh...but they didn't and that's all that matters

What a bunch of thinned skinned posters on here. I am entitled to my opinions and don't go looking on Saints, Chiefs, and Browns boards to bash your team, coaches etc. I have never liked Tomlin so be what it is. As a TRUE fan I am very very disappointed with this team and won't jump ship like the most of you negative posters on here. I know it could be worse being a Chiefs, Browns, Rams fan and not having high expectations but Steeler fans always have high expectations. WE UNDERACHIEVED this year!! You can't fire the whole team but should at least fire Arians and our special teams coach.
