But this idea that the league has a team of script writers choreographing every play is plain retarded. And no amount of spin that you attempt to put on it is going to keep it from being plain retarded. Heck, anyone who believes it is plain retarded.

Just because you're a loser at sports betting, it doesn't mean that the games are scripted, rehearsed and acted out. It means you're a loser at sports betting.

Its actually scary to listen to you guys.  Not only scary....but extremely frustrating.  I stopped arguing long ago because no matter what is said you will never stop believing in conspiracy theories and the like.  The OP stated "yes" their may be a rare instance of a ref trying to manipulate a score to a small degree.....sure...also there is bad calls and dumb players and dumb coaches!  You think in the heat of the moment nothing weird or funny is ever going to happen naturally? Have you never played sports? Seriously ?????
F OFF !!!!! your all morons to believe in scripts.  Plain and simple.  Your just like the people who came out saying the Vegas shooter was on the 12th floor not 32nd and that it was all a set up.
Grow the F-Up.  The only people who believe in scripts are horrible gamblers......figure it out.

This is one of the most intelligent posts I've ever read on this forum. Maybe even THE most intelligent.

What I find both interesting and pathetic is that no one has even attempted to refute any of the points I made about rehearsal time, injuries, etc. Just when do the teams rehearse these scripted games? Are there secret rehearsals at the stadium the night before the game?

It's laughable when you think about it, and it brings to mind that old saying: You can lead the sheeple to water, but you can't make them drink.

Double Up For Life, if you've won ten of the last eleven years then you have an excellent feel for the sport and you are extremely gifted at analyzing games. You should post your picks more often (I haven't seen any of them). They would be a breath of fresh air compared to some of stale analysis we so often get.

F OFF !!!!! your all morons to believe in scripts.

    Thanks appreciate that.
More to yer point about rehearsals.....could you imagine how much time, effort and TAKES would be needed to actually script even a small portion of a game?  How many people would have to be involved? How much money it would cost? Like it is sooooo ridiculous it is unfathomable people believe it.

Brother I only post picks over in the CFB forum , as I feel the its the greatest sport in the world ...

I dont trust the NFL and usually only Fade the Joe Public plays that my Local gives me , and bet OVERS in some spots ...

I used to LOVE THE NFL . NOW with all the rule changes and commercials I can barely stomach it ... DVR most games and watch them later when I can avoid all the BS ,,,Can watch most games in 15-20 minutes ...

Live in Buffalo and sometimes get some possible juicy info on my hometown teams ...Have made much more money fading the Bills over the years than I backing them...
There is no doubt in my mind that the Broncos vs Bills game was fixed ,,, Locals here and in southern Ontario had loads of Broncos money... One local said there was NO way they were going to let DENVER win ....
Many Friends at the game said the Bills were allowed to Hold WR's down field ...3 huge plays featured D Thomas being tackled down field with NO flags thrown ( impossible to see on TV as he was not the intended target ) ...
On offense the Bills ran 7 obvious pick plays in the 2nd half ...
Also major holding on the last 2 drives ...
The Personal foul penalty on Von Miller for joking with Tyrod was insane ....

Like I said above , NO resentment or anger ...It's good to disagree in Life ...

I don't believe all games or drives are fixed , but I strongly believe some are and its much easier to spot when you are at the game ...

    IT'S THE REFS ...

Appreciate your comments, DoubleUp, but you never bothered to read my opening paragraph. This post has nothing to do with the refs. It has to do with the retarded idea that many Covers posters have that the games are scripted.

scripted? yes it is and they don't even have to rehearse!
all the refs have to do is listen to their microphone then act accordingly.

There will never be any tangible evidence that supports either argument here. You are either a purist who believes ALL games are real and unscripted or you are one who has a brain and understands that sometimes there are certain players, coaches and refs who are in on the f@x.

What I'd like to see though is for the purists to take a step back and ask themselves this: if an election in the most powerful country can be controlled by someone other than the people and our govt can be rigged and messed with, if a stock market where whales EVERYDAY trade information without getting caught so they can make millions....why can't a simple sport that generates BILLIONS a year and that is adjoined with the books who supply ratings and money be a bit unpure for lack of a better word?!

For every person who has denied that games can't be scripted, I can sit them down and show them specific games where it's completely obvious that the games are anything but pure. The game that sticks out and always get a jaw drop from people who I show it to is last year's Texans, Raiders game in Mexico City. Go back and watch how blatant the refs were to stiff the Texans not once but twice in consecutive plays in how they spotted the ball and then how they measured the first down with THEIR BACKS to the viewer. You ever seen them measure a first down with their backs to the television viewer? Go back and look at it. The Texans runner CLEARLY gets the first down TWICE, they mark him short and then when they measure the ball, you can't see where the ball lies in relation to the marker. It's so blatant and corrupt even Gruden is freaking out. If you watch those 5 minutes of comedy, there is no explanation for it. What happens next? Raiders go down and score and win. Just one example of thousands.

Lastly, let's no pretend that it takes a lot to change a game? ONE CALL is all that it takes people. A holding call, a roughing the passer call, an illegal block in the back. These are calls that can made every single play, subjective calls and the league and books know this. With that, a flag is thrown and the game changes. In a game like basketball, with teams getting the ball about 100 times a game, if 98% of the game is legit of course the purists will think the game is real. But a bad call here and there....it can cost a team 2-6 points at least. Ya gotta wake up. We'll never get anywhere though in this conversation because even with refs getting busted and scandals that involved point shaving at all levels, it's very hard to get tangible evidence to support ALL or NONE statements on both sides of the argument. Today, purists, open your eyes because in the NFL, it's there.

Lol the mob! The mafia died in the 80's guy. That sort of organized crime waved bye bye some 25-30 years ago.

Alright...it's obvious that the debate revolves around the word "scripted" in your first post and your definition of scripted.  Using your definition of the word, the NFL is not "scripted" as it is obvious there are no massive rehearsals to get EVERY play in EVERY game exactly a certain way like a movie "take".

But, your entire premise of "scripting" is wrong.

The NFL does not have to script games to create the outcomes it wants and this is what the great majority of very close watching sports bettors have discovered over the years.  There are plays at critical times in a game that cannot be written up to a "stupid coach"...a "stupid player" or a 'stupid referee"...Stupidity can only go so far, even though many would argue that stupidity knows no bounds.

So, when the average guy thinks of "scripting", he is not making a case that EVERY play is meticulously rehearsed out in EVERY aspect.  He is saying that common sense and critical observation indicates that stupidity and mistakes cannot explain many of the actions that occur that affect the game outcomes...

    and this is correct.

    very true

the whole game is not scripted but they know before hand that hey there is going to be a bad call to change outcome of game
    ONE SIMPLE  BAD CALL

MOst obvious one is the Phantom hold call

can be called at anytime to make sure a team does not score

Today, purists, open your eyes because in the NFL, it's there.

    very true

the whole game is not scripted but they know before hand that hey there is going to be a bad call to change outcome of game
    ONE SIMPLE  BAD CALL

MOst obvious one is the Phantom hold call

can be called at anytime to make sure a team does not score

You (and a few others) are capable of understanding English. The majority of posters on this thread are not.

I wish your assessment of them was correct, but, sadly, it is not. If you read through the comments, not just here, but all over the forum, you will see that the majority of them actually believe the games are written (scripted) and then acted out by the players:

1st down: Let Eli complete a 9-yard pass. Make sure the defense allows him only 9 yards. We don't want him to get a 1st down.

2nd down: Eli will throw a pass to Victor Cruz. Tell Victor to drop the pass so we can create drama for the audience with a 3rd and short.

3rd down: Eli will throw a pass to Beckham, who will make an acrobatic, one-handed catch. Tell him to give it some flair so we get some oohs and ahhs from the sheeple in the stands. But now here's the good part, as he's running for the end zone, have that rookie cornerback tackle him and tell Beckham to fumble. Now we've really got some drama!

    Etc., etc., etc.,

There are retards on this forum who actually believe this is what takes place with every play in every game on every Sunday.

One thing this post has proven is that evolution is simply not possible. Human intelligence is going the opposite way.

the nfl is just 3 hours worth of commercials with a silly manufactured competitive game somewhere in the middle

btw, anyone ever come across the NASA war documents against the ppl? Global depopulation by 2025 as stated on the documents found on their websites. "Humans are too big, too slow. Humans are bad for evolution". Just do a youtube search. Also, just for kicks: do a web search on what NASA means in hebrew.

But of coarse the sports world MUST be real, ah fuk it must be. Sports entertainment is serious business!

The number of individual posting on this site is not statistically significant to allow you to properly assess the evolutionary potential of the entire human species....
