Truth of the matter is that the Vikings didn't deserve to win,  yes the officials were the most pathetic in recent history but neither team has any reason to blame anyone but themselves.  The vikings played hot potato witht he ball all day.  You people that blame it on Brett Favre however are a joke just like the media.  The man got beat to death all day long and stood in there all day and the toughest and best quarterback of all time did everything he could do to make the Vikings win the game.  It was a game for the ages and one of the best i have watched in my lifetime.  There was no catch by Meecham, there was no first down, and there was no pass interference but it never should have come to that.  Minnesota had a million and one opportunities and have no one to blame but their inadequacy to finish important drives.  Favre is the best!  I am a Tennesee Titan fan and longtime Houston Oiler fan but there is absolutely no one that has ever played the game of football like Brett Favre!  He plays out of love for the game and that just doesn't happen anymore and hasnt for a very long time.  In the day and era of all the overpriced egos, it is so nice to see someone still does it for the right reason. The love of the game.  Brett Favre will be so sadly missed by us real football fans when he is gone but i am so very glad and feel so blessed to have gotten the priviledge to watch him play.  Good luck New Orleans and good job but the real champion here is Bret Favre.  He could have stayed out of the game like a wuss like Peyton Manning would have and that hurts to say because i am a Tennesee Volunteer fan, but sometimes the truth hurts.  Peyton is a great quarterback but he doesn't have the heart, soul, and toughness of the myth, the man, that is Brett Favre.

Sean Peyton Trembling on the sidelines.Drew brees throwing lob and overthrows. But before the half the ole vet "hands-off"to AP??

who doesn't get the handoff and there is the turning point.

Farve was the point man here and the refs escorted the Saints to the FG in OT(bad spots and bad PI call) Can only overturn Bush's TD

This was reminiscent of the Chunky Souper bowl back door cover vs. Pats. If you had the Saints -3 1/2 you lose if you have the Viks to win outright you lose

Only the Archer fish Favre could tank the game and get sympathy too !

ok i'm calling bullshit i've never seen Manning miss a game, have you?  in 2001, i did see him get his jaw broken in a game and was bleeding all over the place... he was such a woos he had to sit out for one play... but that was the only play he missed, and he played the entire game the following week and kicked ass... unless i'm mistaken, he hasn't missed a play due to injury since...

why should minnesota deserve to win?  they turned the ball over 5 times.  the team that has lost the turnover battle is 0-9 in the playoffs.  1-8 ATS.  the vikings have noone to blame but themselves.  you cant commit 5 turnovers in the NFC championship game and expect to win.  period!  AP fumbles in redzone (shoulve been at least 3), berrian fumbles during a key drive (couldve been 3), favre throws a pick late in the game instead of running for 5 yards and letting longwell have a chance to win it.  i dont think the saints got any special treatment in the game.  the Vikes offense just shat down their legs at crucial times.  for the record i was going for minnesota to win.

why should minnesota deserve to win?  they turned the ball over 5 times.  the team that has lost the turnover battle is 0-9 in the playoffs.  1-8 ATS.  the vikings have noone to blame but themselves.  you cant commit 5 turnovers in the NFC championship game and expect to win.

    Hi guys,

I'm reading a lot of complaints about the officiating-especially in OT. I don't know if this is too bold, but IMO the calls were clearly going the Saints way. There was: the pass interference call, the 4th and 1, and the flag that was mysteriously thrown and subsequently picked up.  However, if I am seriously critiquing this game I focus on another play. The forementioned plays could have simply been bad calls, but the Robert Meachem play is bothersome. He is clearly bobbling the ball as he falls to the ground, and then we see the corner of the football touch the ground. In my mind this is not a catch. Perhaps I have something wrong. I am a big sports fan, but I'm not the type who reads the new rules in the rule book every year. If there is something I don't understand could someone please explain it to me.

Also, I can't find this play on youtube or anywhere. If someone knows where I can see this again I'd appreciate it.

Manning doesn't miss a play due to injury because every time someone gets within a mile of him he will go down instead of stand in there and take the hit for the better of the team so you are a dumbass if you remotely think that Peyton Manning is anywhere near as tough a quarterback as Brett Favre.  Who has never missed a game due to injury? year after year,  hit after hit,   give me a break rookie,  you obviously are nieve, and as for the myth being what you believe, you are as foolish as they come if you even compare the two.  longevity, heart, desire, arm and until recently never had the great receivers to go to like Peyton.  Peyton Manning could not even hold Brett Favre's jockstrap  ice blood or whatever you are,  i think your brain has been in ice too long and caused major irreversible brain damage

whatever,  the personal fouls were by the rules in the nfl, personal fouls.   you can not lift a quarterback up and throw him into the ground.  whatever rookie,  believe whatever you wish,   the saints should have had about 10 or 15 more, like all the holds that should have been called and the illegal contacs, and all the uncalled pass interferences. hell even most of the catches by the great vikings receivers were made with pass interferences that weren't called.  you must have been tanked up if you were watching the same game i was
