Payton,
The problem with your list, for starters, is the fact that it is really impossible to compare players and generations without setting parameters.
Just because someone never gets a ring, doesn't mean they weren't great, just as winning one doesn't make a QB great.
Even you have to admit McMahon was lucky to be on that 85 team.
With that defense, a monkey could have won. (Maybe not a monkey but you get my drift)
I truly believe that in today's game, the system matters as much as the talent. I don't think Brady is a top 10 of all time. If Payton Manning were on the Pats, they would have at least the same number of titles (Im NOT a fan of Payton either!) Conversely, I don't think the Colts would have more titles if Brady were at the helm.
That being said, anyone who has Brady on their list should have Payton right there with him.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm sure Pats fans will think I'm an idiot where Colts fans will wholeheartedly agree.
You bring on your own wrath with your overly Homer views. Not to mention the fact that you don't have a QB on your list who has played in the last 20 years (sans Montana- another system QB who was great, but not the greatest)
Warren Moon revolutionized the game and had mad skills.
Favre is a goddamn machine. Manning. Brady.
The game today is much faster, harder, and more athletic.
While your statement is somewhat true in regards to the rule changes, it doesn't change the fact that todays athletes would destroy their predecessors.
devils,
Let me ask you is johnny unitas not the greatest QB of all-time the guy is the godfather of the QB position!!!!! Every QB wants too be like unitas.....
