I've noticed a trend over the years. Some would call it common sense. Why does Vegas make so much money? Because the public loses. A lot. This past season I didn't bother studying numbers, looking at matchups. I read message boards like this, listened to "experts", read articles online. Got a good sense of what people thought were the best bets on the board. I would grab anywhere from 3-7 where the consensus was clear.
And I would bet the opposite.
My best year yet. As the saying goes "the public only remembers what happenned last week". Last week the Falcons barely held on to win & the 49ers beat up on the Packers. Last week the Ravens won an emotional game (some call it top 5 all time) while the Patriots were just their normal selves.
Public is all over 49ers minus the points. And the Ravens plus the points. Public is stupid. I'm not saying that the Falcons are a better team than the 49ers. I think it's clear they are not. But since when does the best team always win? If that was true, Brady would have 5 Super Bowls at least. If that was true, the Colts would not have made the playoffs. If that was true, the Redskins sure as hell wouldn't have won the division.
Patriots cover. Falcons win outright.
And we get 2 weeks of boring storylines for New England vs Atlanta.
Book it.

I don't see Balt as a huge public favourite, early action is on Baltimore with the initial opening at +9.5 but there should be a lot of late money coming in on NE as the line drops. There should be a ton of teaser money on NE also. Balt has a chance at a win here, we've seen time and time again NE lose as big faves in the playoff to Giants, Jets etc..
Big Ballin' since '02

Fading the public isn't new. And if this is the weakest form of capping you've ever seen then you must be new to this world. Thsnks for dropping by son.

I think Vegas set these lines and moving them perfectly. It's obvious to the World that the 49ers should blow them out of the water this Saturday. 49ers are a bigger, faster Seattle and arent going to mess the bed in the first half.
With that reasoning it only makes sense to lure everyone who thinks they're a savvy bettor into taking the Falcons. The books will clean up with the juice and everyone going huge on ATL to do something they cannot, have not, and will not do....win with Matty Ice in the big one.
NE/BALT is even more obvious. Who the hell wouldn't take the Raven's +10 when the line opened. Now that the line is shading towards New England watch the late week push put the public money on New England. Baltimore is fired up, and they DO play New England better than anyone in the AFC. They are mentally tough and legitimately fired up. I think they can win outright if not lose 24-21 alah miracle field goal for New England...again.

ABOUT F-ING TIME SOMEONE SAID THIS. Who needs to cap this game when it is so easy to see what is happening here. no way in hell are both San Fran and Balt winning and or covering this week if either at all.

NO ONE IS PAYING ATTENTION TO NEW ENGLAND'S WIN LAST WEEK. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK BALTIMORE MIGHT DO. Lol good luck with that.

I think the books will clean up because it may end up being San Fran and New England.or something like that Everyone will split out for the day and books kill on juice.

The fact that so many of you are throwing opinions in as facts tells me I'm on the right track.
You're never as good as your best game or as bad as your worst game. San Fran had their best game last week. Atlanta had one of their worst. You're foolish if you think the exact same thing will happen a 2nd time

Nobody has thought of this. You, my friend, have just cracked the code. I expect pictures of your Whale suite at Wynn, your resignation letter to your current employer, and your first book signing, all in the next 12 months.
