Hey 3825 I'm sorry but this whole weak schedule argument is getting a little old for me.  Its not that I don't recognize that the Hawks have benefited from their schedule, but if you are going to criticize the team for their schedule, you should also credit the team for winning 10 games with a brutal travel schedule.  The hawks had only one away game (San Francisco) in their own time zone.  They had to travel to the eastern time zone 5 times, central once, and mountain once.  Compare that to New England, who only had to leave the eastern time zone once (Dallas).  What New England has done is amazing, but would they still be undefeated if they had had to travel to the pacific time zone five times this year?  Maybe, but I doubt it.

Its tough to travel all the way to the east coast and win a game regardless of who you are playing.  Winning 10 games this year with that travel schedule is a heck of a year.
 
Both the Panthers and Falcons games were nothing more than glorified pre-season games for the seahawks.  You don't think they will be ready to play once Saturday comes in their own stadium??  I personally think you have to be crazy to bet against the Hawks at Qwest especially in a playoff game.  You look at the experience they have built with post season play in the last 5 years.

Todd Collins vs. Matt Hasselbeck.  Are you out of your mind?!? Mike Holmgren vs. Joe Gibbs.  Rookie RT vs. Patrick Kerney.  A very overlooked pumped Seahawks Defense!?  They are going to feast on Collins all day long.

so there they are basically equal.

Only real comparison is same teams played (ARZ-PHI-TB-CHI).

Sea avg score against those teams 28-19.4

Wash avg score against those teams 20.6-19.8

Probably meaningless stats but its only real comparisons you can do.

  Seattle doesn't rely on the run game........haven't since about week 9. They pass,pass.....then run.

Stop...stop right now..you should never post on another thread ever again.  that was the most rediculous thing i have ever heard. are you kidding?  seriously, take away dallas??? as bad as the NFC West???  Let em off the hook WEST, the NFC west has been the joke of the NFL since Montana!  these teams play each other harder than any other conference year after year. the last 10 yrs have been brutal in this conference and they still seem to put 2-3 teams in the playoffs year after year.  honestly, that was the most rediculous thing i have ever heard.  go play in traffic

I have ONE question. If the Seahawks are only successful thanks to their weak division and the NFC west sucks so bad then why then are the Seahawks 7-1 against the NFC East over the past 3 seasons??
 
I would really like to hear one of you clowns answer this one!!

oh yeah and since the game is in Seattle I should mention the past 3 years they are a perfect 7-0 against the NFC East at Qwest Field. 
 
After saturday the home record against the NFC east will be 8-0.  Take it to the bank!

vanhawk, i'm not seeing any haters in here, just people offering an opinion.  i've been a season ticket holder since they played in husky stadium. after watching this team this season, i waffle back and forth between "it's started to feel like 2005" and "i think these guys will struggle vs any team that is playing good".  that being said, my focus is on the investment, i don't care which team that is, as long as i feel i'm getting decent value.  in addition, weather will be a factor on saturday, myself and others from the area can provide that info as well.

I also like Seattle.  I think the magic will run out on Washington  this weekend.   Besides the 21 point victory over my Cowboys (ouch!)  Skins did'nt dominate any of the 4 teams they beat during that streak.   Seattle with the rainy weather and being at home will win a close one.

I'm liking Washington and the points in this one.  I think the Seahawks win, but I see this as a field goal game whichever way it goes.

Is this you trying to say that Mike Holmgren is a better coach then Joe Gibbs? Cause I don't fucking think so. In fact I don't think it's even that close

By the way Seattle wins this because it's at home imo. I like them at -3 a little but wouldn't touch them at -3.5.

Will also have some side change on Seattle at +4500 to win the Super Bowl.  I think the Colts get it done and I have them at +550, but at this price I will take a team that I think does have a good shot at reaching the Final 4.  If not, who cares.

I think if Seattle shuts down Portis and get their normal QB pressure this game wont even be close.
 
This is all coming from a Hawks fan so I could be a little biased, but I just dont see how the Skins really match up with the Hawks.
Only way the Hawks lose this game is if they play like shit.

Seahawks -3.5 for me.   There is no way I would ever put money on Todd effin Collins on the road in Seattle.

Weather looks to be downgraded this morning for this game.  I don't see it really being a factor:

Wind SSW at 16 mph
 
Biggest drop off is San Diego for Sunday now only showing a 40% of showers!  (that was 90% heavy rain yesterday)

elvis,  i already checked this morning . . . still no roof, i'll double check again on saturday just in case they build one during the cover of darkness tonight.  we have long nights up here, so it's possible things could change by saturday and no one would no about it.

I am not a seahawk hater. in fact i am leaning towards the hawks.  i just hate moronic comments like that.  the nfc east is clearly the most competitive from a schedule standpoint. the seahawks are men among boys in the West.  The Mighty West where 2 of the 3 starting qb's you're talking about are   Matt Leinart and Alex Smith.  2 elite qb's...

updated weather . . .
the wind will start getting attention in seattle, as noaa has issued an advisory for 50mph winds for friday night and saturday, however, this warning specifically states the winds are "suppose" to gradually subside on saturday monring.  so we could be looking at the situation where the average person may check ther weather on saturday am and see 40mph winds in seattle, but may fail to note the declining nature of the wind speed.  precip is forecast to be occassional showers, with a 90% chance of rain hitting the ground in areas not covered by a roof.
 
like the cal-uw game, there may be some good opp's to buy the over if the weather subsides close to game time.

luckynicho: agreed.. most teams in the nfc have been weak as of late. and leinart and smith have yet to live up to any hype.

i just don't think its fair when people say the hawks couldn't compete in other divisions such as the mighty nfc east. cause clearly (7-1 the 3 season against them) they could be.

this storm is a weird one, strong southerly winds with cold temps. qwest field sits on a north/south axis, and the southern end is more built up and gets some protection from the parking garage and safeco field, but the winds will funnel into the stadium, especially at the northern end. anything over 25 would have me concerned.  even though seattle is a pass first team,  the weather will mainly impact any decision i make on a total and not the side.

If you check Wash's stats last 4@way compared to Seattles L4 home.If you have been keeping track of seattles and wash's L4H & Wash L4 @ power ratingswhich I dont think you have,you will see that there is a 9.5 diferential in opponents powere rating favoring wash

Im not being too much of a homer but when you have a veteran team,the field noise does not become much of a factor.If Washington can establish a running game on Seattle then the Hawks wings are clipped.Wash can stop Alexander as his better days are behind him,if Seattle goes 4 wide then i am concerned in the secondary.
 
I just hope for a good game and hopefully not a blowout.
