I am a NE fan,but took up a liking/interest to the Steelers this season.
I don't know the team all that well, but you lose most if not all credibility with this:

" He's done and I would rather have Byron Leftwich in there"

Ben is far from "done" and trust me,you do not want Leftwich as your starting QB.

Bassin you are seriously getting out of control with the "since the accident" argument. You need to give that argument up or literally lose all or any credibility that you are looking for here. In 2007 (a year AFTER the accident) he threw 32 TDs (almost double his previous best-- 18 before the accident), threw 11 INT and had a 104.7 QB rating which is higher than before the accident. He has obviously had as good of a year as last year but still is amazing and will carry this team when he needs to. Bassin, if you want to be credible, you have to look at FACTS. Opinions are bullshit. The accident argument was closed as of last year and the fact that you continue to think that the accident is the problem when facts prove otherwise. If you cant see that then you are not very well informed as a football fan and maybe you should go back to the marching band.

Leftwich is not the answer to the Steelers woes moving the ball..They play such solid D..get turnovers that result in great field position and rely on comsuming clock..It is not that exciting to watch but they do get it done one way or another...You can NEVER say you are cheering for your team to win when you bet against them... Cheering to cover kinda makes you cheering for San Diego....gl though

you wish you had ben on your side.... ROMO...

ben is the most winning QB ever  5 years in the leauge. thats not going to change. furthermore, if you had any foresight you would know that they play possum so they can smack teams in the mouth come playoff time. it counts in the playoffs....so get ready to see 90 to 100 passer ratings.....cant wait to hear all of you then.

whats it like to hate on someone?? i wouldent know because i spend my time doing other things..

Funny crap in this thread....I'm a Steeler season ticket holder....I watch Ben play in person 8 to 10 times a year.......and anybody that calls them self a football fan CAN'T honestly say that Ben shouldn't be QB'n the Steelers.......I like Leftwich as a backup......but he's NO WHERE near as good as Ben.......NOT EVEN CLOSE..........the pass blocking ability of our offensive line is....well.......offensive..........Ben HAS TO scramble for his life ALOT............he holds the ball for A LONG time when he's doing this.......it is only considered holding the ball TOO long when something bad happens.....but when something good comes from him holding the ball for A LONG time all the naysayers just scream GO STILLERS!!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!......The Steelers are, GREAT DEFENSE, and BEN ROETHLESBERGER......they cannot and will not win the Super Bowl this year without EITHER of these two components..........Roethlesberger is won of most successful young QB's in NFL history....and he's done this with TWO different head coaches..............I'm a Steeler fan and I don't want ANY other QB!!!!!!!!!

jjt   you are also from pit,   so that makes your opinion correct.  you are the one smart pit fan that exhists. I am not only one with similar opinions.

Ben   thats how to spell it??? is not a QB that can win games like manning or brees  he is a situational passer and I guess we have to live with it .  He has some really good games but so do other average QB's.   I just cant see people putting his name in same breath with manning, brees etc.  The steeler D is Damn good and has always been what keeps us at the top of the league.   not Ben

PS dont make idiotic posts that can be disproven and expect than real football fans and fans of the steelers wont disprove them (which is what i did) so thanks

DREW BREES!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? He is a great passer maybe the best passer in the league next to manning... Brees hasnt done shit in this league... and you will say well they dont have a defense so he cant go anywhere! well thats all cute.. but they dont even make the playoffs... dan marino didnt have good defenses but he made the playoffs almost every year when he was the QB because he was so amazing. When drew brees leads his team to playoff victories you let me know, until then... another uninformed football "fan"   BTW i have season tickets and havent missed a home game in 7 years and was born, raised and still live in PIT so if that was it takes for credibility then whatever.

the steeler game plan and build is not a pass first offense, but unfortunatley we cannot keep a good coach to save our lives. kenny wizz is gone and now were stuck with arians. he is the reason ben looks like an idiot from time to time. ben cannot control all the play calling and game plans. he's just 1 facet of the team....so stop putting all of the offensive blame on him...it dosent make sense.
